@3xzl and @1lhg. Is it more efficient to say the same thing once or twice? Or did you get so excited you figured out an elementary math trick you just couldn't contain yourself?

Either way you are subtracting 25%. Either at the beginning from 100% or at the end after multiplication. However, we did it our way to illustrate and to rub in your face the 25% deduction and obviously from the responses it worked.

You want to set the rules your way to skew the numbers. I just choose to throw it all together and get a final accurate accounting of the damage because at the end of the month, it’s what’s in the bank. But if you feel better not counting all the money, go for it. Your bottom line will be wrong and you can feel good.

Nope. I’m talking salary and you’re bringing in unemployment from RRB which has nothing to do with salary from UP and which not everyone will even qualify. If you want to call it 22.58% based on a 31 day month I’ll use the roundup rule and say 23%. Still pretty sh–ty situation you got on your hands. In reality, managers will still be working the same hours in the month because they have to cover for other managers on their week off of unpaid leave. So you may only be taking a 23% pay cut but you’re actually doing the same amount of work. So actually you could say you’re taking a 30% cut or greater depending on how bad you get the shaft if we’re getting technical.

Nobody is buying what you’re selling mr executive wannabe. Only a goon from UP would try and spin getting on unemployment to bridge the gap because their employer has cut their salary as some sort of win. I’m sure we’ll soon hear lots of stories of people being turned down for these benefits. Especially new managers without enough qualifying time from last year.

We are calculating the 25% reduction in salary for UP managers. Unemployment benefits from the RRB are not part of your UP salary.

The 25% only applies to executive level. The week off/mth equates to 22.7%. Yes they have to submit the rrb but that’s easy. If they don’t submit, they don’t need the money enough to submit. If they do, their total loss is about 10%. Not a big deal for most.
