Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

How many people are quitting in your departments?

I swear every day in my part of GTO another one bites the dust. Fidelity and Credit Suisse are recruiting hard in RTP right now.

@5 people - enjoy your 2021 1.5% and let’s face it filling the positions will be impossible no one wants to work for this company

5 people on a team of 10 have quit in the last two weeks where I am. I'm drowning in work now and have been told it'll "take some time" to backfill because HR is so behind on posting open positions.

My area has been hit hard by the HR layoffs this year. And now people are quitting fast and furious. What I find amusing is that SLT is surprised by this turn of events. I'm not sure why when you've spent the year telling us we're disposable.

I've gotten five emails/Teams messages this week from people quitting the company. I'm starting to wonder why I'm not joining them.

Wow. And I imagine it wasn't easy to get that rectified. How are you liking your new company?

If you leave, as I did, cancel your Pet Insurance - apparently they keep billing even after employment ends, and payroll deductions stop -- Other than that? What a good choice in leaving.

I've heard it's brutal in HR right now.

@you are kidding. You nailed it. Everyone should be looking for a new employer. The reorganization and elimination of positions is not done.

@wow... are you kidding? people quitting is what they are counting on. then they won't replace anyone, and they won't have to lay people off and pay out severance packages. been doing it for years.
