@OP

Mastercard initially announced about 1,600 layoffs, but an additional 600 job cuts were done in April, bringing the total higher and suggesting the reductions may exceed 4% of its workforce, with the possibility of further cuts ahead. Have they announced additional layoffs?

@1nq true…met several exMC employees and the word is DEI…they don’t mask it and the ‘leadership’ is less than average intel

@1nq That's exactly what's happening. I am a RIF'd employee that had an opportunity to get back in this year. Interviewed, passed with flying colors, team loved me, hiring manager loved me, then something happened and that position and another were moved to India. Fu-k it. I've seen the 'support' that comes from lower costs. It takes 3+ the amount of time to get something fixed or dealt with. I say let them eat cake. It all comes back around.

Mastercard is a DEI company. They started in 2012/2014 with steady layoffs of its workforce (mainly white men, of course) only to hire similar positions 6 months later with a heavy push over the years to hire diversity- it was part of the executive objectives which they published on LinkedIn years ago. Qualified? Yes, just hope you’re nonwhite otherwise you’re part of the layoff pool and not long term promise. My friend worked with DEI hires who literally were unqualified…checking the box and drowning employees with their indoctrination of diversity. It doesn’t help the former CEO invested heavily in India - (Ajay) hmmmm, so go figure the company that was built in America shifts work elsewhere - too woke to support stock investment and no respect for their nonmerit achieved leadership-they pay very well and buy your silence with a heavy severance. Layoffs every year with a larger base every few years - DEI company. Would never work there…..

The email from Jason Stathom’s long lost brother said 1600. When the heck did MC get 40,000 employees to make that 4%?
