Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Manager informed me my salary cut has been made permanent...anyone else?

In my 1:1 this morning I asked when I can expect my salary to return to what it was before the pay cut. They told me the cut has been made permanent but I can expect a 5% raise in 1 year...which still puts me below what I was making a year ago. Going to start applying to other jobs!

In sports, fixed salaries are often converted into signing bonuses as the accounting is different. Seagate giving out RSU instead of restoring the salary cuts has similar accounting effects. In fact, I think Seagate should expand this approach and include all employees (non-exempts as well) since we are ONE SEAGATE. We all should do our part to help the finances.

Guys - no more rumor mongering. Sales EVP confirmed paycut stays for non-sales staff. Sales staff are critical to get revenue up, so they will be incentivized. Rest is all for Air Frost One and her cronies.

So for the year 2023, we get pay cut plus RSU. Earlier I was wondering why more people volunteered for the layoff than the usual years before, and many senior members left. It’s totally a different company under the leadership of heavy D. It made me even worse when heavy D sold the shares at the peak price. Inside trade??? Better to get a package and jump off the ship.

Now. Now. Quit fretting over that pay cut. It’s your sacrifice that made the dividend payment possible. We the senior management salute each and everyone of you.

"Pay is coming back in November. "

Lol - right after the layoff and before open enrollment - here's your crumbs back, chump.

I wonder if we'll start paying our vendors too? The ones I work with are getting testy.

LCO - stop the rumors. Your manager is wrong. Pay is coming back in November.
