Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Has anyone had any conversations/interactions with HR about the vaccine?

Just wondering if so what you said, what they said etc.

The "Nice try, HR" was implying that someone in HR was the originator of this thread so they can find out who is on this site and it was a nice try but we see what they're trying to do... sheesh. Considering you have to be at least semi-intelligent to work for this company, some of you really are quite dense.

Has anyone asked for a religious exemption or medical exemption? If so how did that go?

That’s HR saying “nice try” to the poster that said create your own proof

Eh?? Don’t think HR would be suggesting that people create their own vaccine cards.

@4mkn+1ciDkwMm - glad to see doctors owning there own body and refusing treatment to the anti-vaxxers

In Alabama, where the nation’s lowest vaccination rate has helped push the state closer to a record number of hospitalizations, a physician has sent a clear message to his patients: Don’t come in for medical treatment if you are unvaccinated.
Jason Valentine, a physician at Diagnostic and Medical Clinic Infirmary Health in Mobile, Ala., posted a photo on Facebook this week of him pointing to a sign taped to a door informing patients of his new policy coming Oct. 1.
“Dr. Valentine will no longer see patients that are not vaccinated against covid-19,” the sign reads.

@4mkn+1ciDkwMm - To add … Pro-Choice spans a women’s right to make choices about their body in addition to vaccines. Same individuals touting vaccine choice should also be in favor of a women’s choice.

Everyone has a line that they don’t want crossed. It’s different for all of us. Some will hold that line and not give an inch, and others will allow it to be moved. Personal choice.

In the end it comes down to whether or not you want your job and want to stay with CNC. For me, I’m willing to leave. But it’s not just over a vaccine push from leadership.

It’s the overwhelming sense of sadness of watching regular RIFs. It’s watching teams take on more work than they can handle because they have no choice. It’s watching strong people give up doing what they used to excel at because they’ve lost hope. It’s the barrage is chaos that comes from acquiring but not integrating companies. It’s watching churn in leadership that only gets weaker with every departure.

Centene could be a great company. But the company is only as strong as it’s employees are dedicated. If people lose faith in the organization, the company will fail. And yes, people are losing faith. You can’t throw money at a morale/motivation problem and expect to fix it long term.

I know I’m preaching, but I just wanted to point out that the arguing in this thread isn’t necessarily only about the vaccine. The issues are larger and more diverse.

Good luck everyone.

The intention is to protect not to control … anti-vac or pro-vac isn’t the issue. The companies goal is to protect lives and do everything they can to make sure folks work in a safe environment … how to get to that safety place is still unknown as this is new to our society but in the end that is the intentions …. My personal view is let people continue to work from home until all of this is over and under control if that day ever comes …. I prefer the safety of working from home Centene. Let’s continue doing that if you are truly concerned about our health & safety

@3qrf+1ciDkwMm check some news other than what the television tells you and you’ll most other countries aren’t “cheering” for everyone to get vaccinated. I’m 10 weeks pregnant and now I have to take this? Are you out of your mind? My doctor said I couldn’t have a ham sandwich but this vaccine is A-Okay. Think a little.

I think most of the world is cheering efforts to get everyone vaccinated. Most of us want to live. Think hard about your choices.

So let me get this straight. Half the people on this post are cheering centenes efforts? “Go find a new job”? You think your employer should be in charge of your medical treatments? You people have fallen further than you realize.

HR is only following orders. They were not the final call on vaccine status and repercussions. All they can do is repeat what you have already been told. The company has an at will hiring / firing situation. If you are fired for not following company policy, you need to have at least six months salary as a back up plan while you are looking for another job. And, many employers are requiring vaccinations so good luck with finding a new gig that doesn't. It will be more difficult than you think.

Centene is a privately owned company so that can in fact require you to get a test. All this we got the power stuff isn't going to work. If they fire you they will probably fight giving you unemployment so make sure your bank account can handle it.

Aside from having to pay for your own tests, I’m expecting they’ll also make it so you can’t transfer to a new internal position without proof since it would be a “new hire” type of situation for the other department.

At some point you have to call it discrimination, but I’ll let an employment attorney handle that.

I’m curious what you are going to tell HR since you are already vaccinated. You’re not going to file any exemption so I guess you’re just going to say no, I’ll take the tests? Good on you for standing up. If everyone did this regardless of vaccination status there is nothing they could do about it.

I’m vaccinated already but I won’t be providing them proof. I’ll pay for my own weekly tests (you know that’s coming) and wear a mask everywhere. Whatever.

It’s none of their business. If they can force this and get away with it, what’s next?

I have, the feeling was definitely that you are put on a “list” to be the first to be “let go” when the time comes. That’s the feeling I got. HR is usually very pleasant with concerns, they are definitely reading off of a script when it comes to the vaccines and zero small talk.

They say nothing because they don’t let you speak . This is NOT a option!! What you and everyone needs to understand you have no choice . This is shuttle Communism and Centene is the biggest player of no choice !!! When you create this environment, it’s profitable , who will challenge the federal government or Centene and win??? It’s a control factor and if you don’t listen to MFN the puppet master you will be discarded like a piece of trash.. like the federal government Does to do many , especially the middle class
