When is this long awaited announcement finally going to come? Who will be the new proprietors? I've heard of a few likely candidates. Curious if it will be KP as expected

So last year Apollo Management Group wanted to buy Pearson. Now there are talks that UoPhx may be bought by university of Arkansas. My how the rides are turning. While this may be a profitable industry currently, there are changes coming and I doubt Pearson will be in the OPM business long enough. I think they want to get out while they could still make money from a sale of POLs in North America.

@cjfm+1kW2KWjL Reading "Spare" and taking it seriously....bawhahahahahaha. One of the greatest takes ever. Bravo!!!!
@cjfm+1kW2KWjL I never met MW, but I can tell you that I spent more than 2 decades in educational publishing (including Pearson,) before moving on to another industry.
I'm still shocked at how blatantly mean, unprofessional, petty...insert your own adjective, that publishing is compared to more traditional business. I'm not including tech as my guess is its just as bad, but you make way more $$.
The only thing that I can figure is that the business is in its death rattle and has been for the last 15 years and it brings out the worst in people. That and just terrible hiring and development practice.
Personally, I thought "Wolfe of Goldman Sachs" was even funnier.
Does anybody remember Melinda Wolfe? Dour, gothic, and hating absolutely every employee because that's what the Upper West Side thinks of you in flyover country.
Wolfe purged so many wonderful, talented women out of Pearson. The incompetent do not like competition!
She said that everybody should be a "3" out of 5 in their yearly review. Anybody remember that? I will never forget it. She was vile.
Wasn't Wolfe also responsible for "off-shoring" most of HR? Or was that Asian Vikstrom Persson?
Funny how the Nags here blindly support female execs who never cared a whiff about anything other than when their stock options vested. We guys can knock Fallon and "DJ Andy" (clever one, mate) all day long and we're upvoted. Those fellas seem like the kind of Eton-wannabe chaps who spend half their day showering with the door open at the gym, or reading the "Spare" book and taking it seriously. They are easy targets. But any complaints about Dame Edna are met with shrieks and downvotes. I can't see how anybody in their right mind can support a censoring fool like Dame Edna.
@9rmi+1kW2KWjL understand your bitterness towards the ever-worsening leadership teams, but ‘Asian Vikstrom Persson’?
Crawl back into your cave, you cretin.
Anybody else get an email about returning company property?
I still work for the company, but I got an email from somebody in NJ and the email had a prepaid UPS Ground attachment to send my computer, but not my displays or chair or printer, to somebody in Durham, North Carolina.
Do we have an office in Durham, NC?
Was that a scam or am I about to be laid off?
@9yuc+1kW2KWjL Do they still do the stunt where the rube wearing the coonskin cap gives the sales award? Probably too unwoke.
How many years were we required to list our goals, track our goals throughout the year, meet with our managers and discuss progress on our goals, but only to have Lucy pull the football away from Linus when it came time for reviews and raises?
As if we had a future with the company.
This is what DJ Andy and Ali Bebo think of us.
That's what John Failing and Asian Vikstrom Persson thought of us.
It's what Marjorie Scamdino and the Wolfe of Goldman Sachs thought of us.
Could you imagine another NSM where less than 25 make goal and no
DM’s or VP’s? How pathetic that would be and why would anyone stay?
I will 100 percent guarantee you that everyone of those execs is looking at nothing more than how they much will make on a sale. They do not give two sh&ts about anyone left behind.
keep an eye on the date of the next town hall/global town hall. answer lies therein
The current execs have been put in place to cash-in once the Golden Goose has been sent to the abattoir. None of these people have any experience in doing anything real. They couldn't run a lemonade stand. All they're capable of is stealing the lemons, spilling the sugar, and selling the stand for firewood for pennies on the dollar. I hope all of you have updated your resumes, LinkedIn, and Indeed, and are regularly applying at other companies or talking to recruiters. There will be more layoffs. Andy will read from the script that says he will take full responsibility.
Pols announced plans to sell last Summer and the announcement will be made very soon. It's amazing how management continues to operate in a clueless manner. Add this ingredient to their continued lack of care for employees. One would think this ends somewhat gracefully but they still continue to hire even with barely any business or future. And while the hirings continue, non favorites, with over 2 years tenure, are being put on performance write ups for not meeting laughable/unrealistic KPI goals. Employees on past posts mentioned this tactic of avoiding severance as well as many being released right before reaching 100% 401k. No need to worry about severance for these cheaper new hires.
Management led to the demise of POLS with their incompetency and no can or care attitude. I'm Sorry to the employees working at POLS right now given the atmosphere even frightens the devil.
Mcgraw buying our science and math list would be a great move for Mcgraw and benefit our customers in many ways. A bunch of reps and product employees would get severance.
How does anyone even know that POLS is for sale? I haven't heard that.

Considering the founder of KP was the former CEO of EmbanetCompass, it would make sense. Seriously hope it is not Apollo Mgmt, or any of the other for profit colleges that cause issues. The OPM market is projected to be a $7.7B market by 2025, so it is no surprise that Pearson is selling before it bottoms out and before the industry becomes oversaturated.
Also, the BoD needs to approve the sale before it is announced, so we all need to watch for next meeting.
I'm curious too. I want to know if we are going to be without a job or if the new company will be bringing us over. Honestly I would rather the severance.
