Of course the HR guy who RIFd me knew nothing about retirement... does anyone know how retirement vs SUB works?

@8xkp+1vw5vVuQ look it up on Workday
What are the retirement benefits at this company?
If you have been RIF’d you should use those benefits that are owed to you as part of them giving you the boot before you retire officially. If you are 62 years or older take the 6 months of free pay and benefits. If under 62 it is worth the hassle of going through the unemployment supplement process for the 6 months of pay and benefits. Right before your RIF benefits end the contact HR and declare your intention to retire.
@5yhp+1vw5vVuQ. Good job asking. If you don't mind disclosing what state are you in ? I didnt think that was state specific Is Anthem supplementing your salary with unemployment, or paying the entire amount themselves? . Comply with the unemployment rules, however ask if you're eligible for unemployment benefits after your severance ends. Move your 401K out of Anthem. You got this.. blessings
I was told that, since I'm eligible for retirement, get to continue my life insurance at 1x my salary. I will receive an email a couple of weeks before the end of my RIF period with options for health care and life insurance. But, you still have to follow the unemployment rules and reporting job seeking records every week to your unemployment office.
If you're eligible for retirement, send HR an email and tell them you want to execute your retirement benefits
