Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Mandatory OT

Received an email from management that OT is mandatory for the helpdesk. What an utter sh-t-show this company is. Lack of raises, poor communication, and the only time you get feedback from "leads" is when you are doing something wrong. Probably the worst culture I have ever been in. Zero positive reinforcement or incentives. This place is nothing more than a stop gap for me and I can not get out of here quick enough. Looking at the stock price it is not surprising in the least bit. DXC is the poster child for The Peter Principle. The snarky attitude by senior staff and management is something out of a movie. You get better performance out of people by using positive reinforcement not negative, but these half-wits would rather strike fear into people than dangle a few bucks in front of them.

OT if your a salary employee OT is part of the job, if you don’t like find another profession

If your paid hourly then you get 1.5 times your pay for each overtime hour

If you don’t want mandatory overtime stop bi--hing and go find a better job somewhere else if you can, otherwise shut the duck up

Good luck getting a straight answer some any type of leader in this company.

Wal-Mart has bonus program for its full-time employees. The store you work at does well quarterly, everyone gets cut a check. Amazing the incompetent leadership. Negativity doesn't make better workers, positive reinforcement will bring confidence up and people will care more about the work they do. This is clearly a sinking ship and I feel bad for the people who are blind to it.

I was also unaware children were allowed to post here. Amazing how brave some people are hiding behind a keyboard. :)

: @4ntc+1pgx1rE0 instead of sending tickets back, transfer them to the correct team!

When you get tickets do not close till you talk to the person opening it to make sure the problem is solved. I hate when I open a ticket and find out it’s closed because the tech think they solved the problem when they didn’t. That’s why we ca it the Helpless desk

The company is yet to realise, unmotivated staff are determined to make it worse, in the hope crashing the ship will be better than this out of control madness we all put up with every week. Our team get endless misrouted calls. We're not doing anything useful - we spend half the week just sending tickets back. The company could have resolved it, but chooses not to.

I was once told I was needed for a project but was only offered time off in lieu for the overtime, I as had built up too many hours in the past and had loss them as was not able to get time off in the past "sorry we have too much on at present".

I asked if I was getting a pay rise - Answer No
I also I could have the OT as pay - Answer No

Then you have my answer for overtime.

So the stock price has been below $20 for much of this week.

What a fitting testimony to our illustrious leaders and their abilities.

What was once a thriving and profitable business has been decimated through a failed strategy of "buy backs" and layoffs. Totally incompetence.

Your statement that DXC is the poster child for The Peter Principle is spot on.

I've never understood how managers like this keep getting promoted through the system, but it continues to happen. The staff that remain deserve better.

If you don't have a contract, you don't have contractual hours. How can there be "over time" if time is not defined in the first place?

They bring people from Puerto Rico because they can work ITAR or ITAR like positions and push out more mainland US people.

This has been going on for at lest 7 years !

Helpdesk, we used to call you helpless desk !

Are you on hourly pay, if so you’re making more money with OT. If not quit if you don’t like it, you’re not a slave!

Contract? Helpdesk doesn't have contracts. Numerous people have asked about raises and the reply we got is "You get raises when management says so". Way to be adults about the situation. DXC has started to bring on a lot of people of Puerto Rico, well because they only need to pay them $6/hr. Obviously it is quantity over quality
