4 Day Work Week NRM

Many people work from home NRM. Many don't bother work Friday. Leaving work for anyone that bothers to come in.

The other days aren't much better for the people to that come in.

Management doesn't care

why should I do my work when there are wafer VPs micromanaging down three levels and into other orgs? If there's an issue I'm sure they can handle it.

Speaking of Fridays. I am going to work from home tomorrow. Once again, I apologize to my coworkers for making you work harder tomorrow.

"NO FREE FRIDAYs" policy. Inflation is over 10% since last raises. Work less to compensate the company for that direct pay reduction. When they do reinstate raises I can assure you this gap will not be closed. I expect they will be 4%. 3% would sound like just sound like the standard. Managers will be told to sell 4% as higher than usual to help compensate for the >10% inflation. Do be stupid and accept that. "NO FREE FRIDAYs !!!!"

Completely agree with @8ntu+1rFtw4Bj. You might get a spark award or someone might “recognize” you in some waste of time meeting. But meanwhile, so many people are busting their butts just so we can continue to promote/hire more unnecessary layers of management (ex. There are 3 new positions for Director level HR positions). And don’t forget, we can’t afford to give any monetary increases, but the worldwide sales meetings must go on!

Can someone answer my question
I know a ctl in Longmont who roams around taking meetings on cars and with laptop working around during kid’s classes.
Is there that much work or is it overacting

I could care less how long it takes HAMR to succeed. I've been here a long time and seen many teams meet all targets with products and get absolutely nothing for the effort beyond the minimum required compensation. There is zero benefit at all to going the extra mile or getting personally invested in the products. Quiet quitting makes a lot of sense. You will most likely get absolutely nothing for busting your tail. No raise, no recognition, no bonus, no monetary reward. Nothing. It's been this way for decades. In fact, you're reward might be getting laid off. I'm a mercenary with no attachment or care to the success of Seagate's products or mission at this point. I'll get my assigned tasks done to the best of my ability and no extra.

The 4-day work week in my experience goes back long before Covid. I’ve had multiple bosses that “worked from home” on every Friday. They were equally effective remote. Meaning they never did anything whether they were in the office or not. Twi of these bosses took layoff packages when they planned on retiring anyway. Very convenient for them.

Longmont people only do this

Day trading on Robinhood
Boasting about others of their company as if it’s FAANG
Cry and Jealous on others
When really bored open laptop and do something

I'm out in LCO and haven't even opened my email since February 😂 going to see how long I can keep getting paid. My boss checked out along time ago, so only fair if I do too.

Still waiting for an explanation why/how working from home a day here or there is causing others more work. If you can't back up your tale, then shut it.

Quiet-quitting is the way. This company has earned it with it's compensation cuts, constant layoffs and giving away my dues as dividends. My personal life has improved so much since quiet-quitting a few years ago.

A lot of people are working nine or 10 hour days and expected to be available 14 hours a day until the nighttime on top of that Seagate had no problems stealing employees money so God forbid somebody takes an afternoon off on Friday. Give me a break.

Unless you have to be in the fab, for most roles sitting at a desk in the office or sitting at a desk at home makes no difference. Those that get work done will do so either way, and those that are just chair warmers will continue to do the same regardless of location.

Maybe it's because nobody has gotten raises or bonus in 2+ years while the cumulative 25% inflation destroys everybody financially. Meanwhile everyone sees the top get rich on dividends and buybacks. People are lucky to be granted 2 week off a year depending on your boss and need the flexibility. The crisis of trying to live and take care of family and household with really high prices is something not acknowledged or cared about by "management". Yes the company doesn't care about you. Does it make any sense to you now? People who are treated like disposable mercenaries should act accordingly and perhaps you need to take a few Friday afternoons off too.
