Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

HCL'ers and Ex State farmers

I can't believe people are returning to state farm to work.

It is like watching your friend reenter a relationship with her abusive boyfriend. They (state farm) betrayed you once and they will do it again. They are abusive, lie, and manipulate, and treat you nasty. Just like an abusive partner.

I can't believe it. I guess some people have no confidence they can get another job, so similar to a friend returning to an abusive relationship.

So sad. Don't say you weren't warned.

Farney won’t hold anyone accountable. Just like his predecessors. He’s best buds with FA nothing will change.

It's encouraging that Farney appears to be holding people accountable, but I'm not so sure that a slap on the wrist with a directive to retire to your beach house...asap is really accountability. The damage has been done and it's not clear how or if they can recover once the rebadgers leave.

Whether they find another vendor that charges engineer money for engineering work, or start nearly from scratch and move the work back inside, it's going to cost more in the long run. HCL is very likely not the solution.

Taking all FAs direct reports away has to signal they realized what was going on.

@8jvr Farney is making moves. Don't be surprised to see Margo's name come up in a similar fashion soon.

E Tower is getting raked over the coals by agents and other department execs over this HCL debacle. Failure of this magnitude costs people their jobs.

I was laid off with 9 days to go before I could officially retire. I have worked for the company for over 35 years and can dance circles around the new people they have hired. If you are in your 20s and you think this won’t happen to you too when you are in your 50s think again! Sf does not value tenure anymore. You are just a number on a spreadsheet.

All Indian run/owned companies st1nk. Their only differentiator is cost, not innovation and certainly not benevolence, especially to employees from the West.

Having worked long term and SF and being kicked to the curb at HCL, I can attest, as much as I don't care what happens to SF, the work environment at HCL is a horrible hostile place. Those that haven't already been kicked to the curb by HCL are jumping ship on their on.

"You thought that relationship you were in with SF was bad. Now being in this relationship HCL, it's much easier to see that SF really wasn't all that bad"

My understanding is that you can't get back into the pension once you leave .

It wouldn't be worth it for me to return though, since I would probably be guilted into actually doing some work

As it is, with HCL, I don't do anything and am not guilty about it since I was sold by SF.

Plenty of people want to keep their pensions growing, for however long they can. People may go back, but I don't think they are under any illusions that SF cares about them in particular.

Money is money. HCL is awful to work for and I got no illusions that my new time at SF will be long term but at least I don't have to deal with that cr-p anymore.

its NOT State Farm... State Farm as a institution will weather this storm and will eventually dismantle the current leadership and start anew. Upper Leadership is utterly incompetent across all departments

People have to make a living don't judge others so harshly- are you still working at SF?
