@8cd I think it was just a whole group that got the axe, not the whole office.

I think we got our answers...

  • more restructuring for efficiency = more layoffs coming
  • AI will enable us to do more work with the staff we have and reduce hiring
This will then enable even more restructuring for efficiency

@8fn I am not @OP but I can confirm that over 80 people have been laid off so far this year. I know more are coming but unfortunately I do not know from where or when exactly. Hopefully we get more information at the CEO town hall next week.

@OP we've lost well over 5% in TAI. Has the percentage gone up overall?

@6d8 Any idea on which teams are getting cut from Tech? Some teams are running more lean than ever before right now.

There are cuts being made across all departments, but total IT impact is still not finalized. Entire IT systems will be eliminated in the coming weeks.

Yes, in Tech everyone is a director. It's crazy how bloated middle management is.

In tech, they really need to cut out those middle management roles that don’t bring value and lack technical know-how. There are so many leads and managers in the hierarchy, and many of those roles just communicate someone else's work to business leaders without truly adding any value. I hope the organization shifts to a model where business and tech work together directly. This could speed up delivery and simplify processes! It’d be great if recognition and rewards were tied to actual tech skills and the work of individual contributors—after all, they’re the ones turning ideas into real solutions!
