Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

9/12 is supposed to be BIG - How big?

Can anyone put some real numbers to this whether estimate or approximate?

Specifically speaking to those "in the know".

The person who says the JE calendar is real and they have it - does your calendar have a game plan as to 9/12 is x% of work force, 10/12 (or whatever the following dates will be for the remainder of the year) is x%

We fully expect many will continue to be pulled into emergency meetings in the coming weeks. Trying to get a handle on how big is big for 9/12.

And does anyone know how many employees are even left? We used to be 74K-76K strong.

@7ibc+1u6ufc3V Go to Iris and type in HIH and D&AE in search bar, and see if you find answers ...

The calendar is available for anyone with direct reports (I believe). It only states the date and nothing else besides deadlines paperwork is due for those who will be let go each date.

Do all upper managers have this calendar or just ones that will in fact be impacted by JE?

How can they possibly layoff case managers? We don’t even have enough nurses to do the work.

The JE calendar only gives dates. It shows the date termination paper work is due which is normally a month or so before the actual JE day.

It’s going to be in the D&AE. The HIH hiring was max in this area. Expect lot of restructuring of teams if not layoffs.

They’ll keep layoffs below WARN threshold.

The layoffs will be just below thresholds required by WARN laws. From what I’ve heard the cuts should be pretty similar to October of last year. Headcount is about 70k, will likely drop below that by a couple thousand but then come back up as we hire more dollar store bargain employees In Hyderabad. Terrible strategy that will only continue to eat away at the rot in Cigna’s core. But Cigna is too big to fail (you really think Uncle Sam will let a company like this go out of business and have millions of uninsured in the country?) and acts like it.
