If somebody thinks they can do another job, that they have not done previously, they probably do not understand the job sufficiently to do it well.
ViaSat will get through this period by everyone doing the job they are good at. Finance should perform financial analysis, engineering should design products, operations should build the products, and leadership will lead.

I’m so so glad I am out and no longer subject to the toxic and sub-standard management that pervades Engineering. Leadership? Don’t make me laugh - GC wouldn’t know leadership if it smacked him in the face. Him and his cronies, who have recycled rather than laid-off, need to be removed and replaced with those who are capable of both defining and executing a viable technology strategy. The current lot are just there for the pay check.
@OP looks like you were correct.
@7r5 DEI has played a part in the collapse, we used to continuously improve designs and roll out new products. Not since DEI became the priority, more important to hire unqualified people and celebrate mental illness now.
@7hp There will be additional big expenses for golden parachutes. Then we can resume a push for more DEI.
The board has mostly gone quiet since Guru left. Looks like the budget for shills went with him
I like how everyone is quiet now that our stocks have been continuously increasing that last few weeks and companies consistently buying (:
Viasat? Viashat more like... overstretched, over ambitious and under skilled, absolute chaos and Dankberg FFS, you need to retire my man, its time (It was time at least 3 years ago) go and enjoy your retirement and maybe, just maybe, someone can step in and turn the place around... or maybe its just too late... time will tell
Yeah, right.
Or, maybe, just hear me out. The leadership team that is compensated presumably for their skill and experience isn't --checks notes-- very good at this.
