Was witness to an email going to CCS employees stating from April 1st, US based employees are to return to office.
They're working out plans for employees everywhere else to follow suit.
Not received anything myself by email but heard of these plans as my manager informed me of the intentions. Again, this was just an informal chat a few days before seeing an email. Communications within the company are not a strong point.
I can imagine this news will go down like a lead balloon with people who may have gotten used to a degree of flexibility never seen before prior to COVID.
Think of those who may be moved around locations since COVID and adjusted plus made life choices based on their flexible working arrangements.
Don't think this will impact fully remote employees, just those on flexible working arrangements.
None of the above comes as a surprise. Think it was going to happen at some point and will be a real kick in the teeth to many. As another poster had said, this is a tactic used to really bring people down, making them think to get out, so CommScope can avoid paying the employee off.
Thing is, CommScope has a lot of employees globally who have been with the company through acquisitions meaning many consecutive years of service, and not many of them will want to wave goodbye to any possibility of a pay out should redundancy come about. So those people will either have to get out, or su-k it up and accept it.
