Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Loads of Proximity CS openings

Can someone with experience tell me about these positions? How many hours per week? How often do you work weekends?

It's all political. Have no opinion and believe all of what you see not what they tell you.

The proximity job depends on location. Los Angeles market Fire and Auto proximity reps are quitting left and right.

20 year prox rep here. It’s the only position left in the company where people leave you alone as long as you do your job. If it’s a good location like population increase vs decrease as long as you get your work done you’ll be fine. Lot of people on this thread are full of sh-t. There’s one comment above that’s true the rest are trolls

Don't do it unless your doctor will provide you with anti depressant medicine. If not, you can self medicate with booze as a last resort. You likely will be overworked and report to a powerless and spineless manager.

@6yuh. Another fine "business decision." Proves titles does not reflect common sense nor intelligence.

Yes it tells me why you are a peon and no further along in your career.

@6pwg. 3% overpaid. If you pay what you owe, you wouldn't have paid anything, defensed the case and pursue costs. Does that tell you about working claims? Defense costs more than 250 million? Laughable.

LOL. They settled it for 3% of the demand. It,is a good thing you don’t work in claims.

@3dvd.....you think judges want to be affiliated with any company who paid 250 million to get out of a RICO lawsuit? That's like letting a criminal in the judges chambers. That's why it's a joke. Once that goes down, it's no wonder their reputation is in the shredder. Fine business decision. If they were NOT GUILTY they should have defended the suit to keep their reputation.

It is going to be a complete and total sh-t show in Fire company. You could double the pay and I would not take it. Been there done that. Basically, you will do whatever they tell you to do. HRU one week, climbing roofs another, or cleaning up Stewardship. It's going to be a disaster when they hit you on your schedule adherence/AHT when working HRU, getting a complaint on a roof inspection you did or call back on the Stewardship files you touched a month ago. You can't make this stuff up! They think by disguising it with WFM people will fall for the usual trap of promise you chocolate cake and serving you a sh-t pie!

You dont mind working hard if it us appreciated but its not under this leadership. Take away pay and benefits. Let the best employees go to reduce salary abd benefits at the cost if quality product. At the courts, SF was most respected insurance company. Even the judges knew SF REPS are the best. Now Sf is a laughing stock. A joke...

Had a Huddle call and the basic outline is this: The Farm is going to hire 1000 CS’s out in Proximity. The key is, not in the Hubs. These new reps will work Proximity, Weather Proximity, and may work stewardship as needed. No specifics as to where these positions will be, or when they will be hired. Supposedly there are some postings up now.

Worse job in company. Total burn out job. Never do it. Way too much work and zero support. Guy I worked with died in his sleep from stress from this job.

They literally ran off half of the previous ones with their games like reapplying for the job, zip code requirement changes, and their other workforce reduction tactics. Now they’re doing all this hiring?

The stress and requirements in Proximity are almost unbearable. Fire claims proximity gas to be one the worst jobs in the company. Upper management has no clue what we have to deal with in a day. The fire claims job was a pretty good job until they got rid of about 1/2 of the field reps and went to the metrics about 7 or 8 yes ago. Upper management acts like they care because they have no idea what the fire proximity job even requires.
