Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Stop complaining!

This is a good company and a good job. If you're not happy here, you won't be happy anywhere.

Boomers? The youngest Boomers are like 60 now. Anyone that age still working is either executive management or paying for a divorce.

Go complain to someone else @6unv. I’m a Boomer with no kids and I have earned just over $5 million in my 401k and accrued lump sum pension. I’m still on the job after 30 years and will look to hang on another two or three years only to take an extra portion of your and the next generation’s pension. Sorry kiddo, but nailing the proper timing in life is often hard to plan or foresee. If you get it, take the money and run.

"Yeah the boomers kind of ruined things for anyone else in the country and at Chevron."

They were the first generation to leave the country worse off then when they inherited it.
No one will get the kind of retirement that they have presently. They stole from their grandkids who will have a much bleaker future or none at all.

All you people complaining are in Houston. Go to a Business Unit where the real work gets done.

Everyone has a right to complain. I wouldn't complain to HR or management.

Let me tell you young whippersnappers
that Boomers did nothing if not buying as much CVX Stock while it was in the in the dumper many times in my career at Chevron. Most of us lazy ne’er do wells are millionaires. Now get back to work! We’re monitoring you.

Yeah the boomers kind of ruined things for anyone else in the country and at Chevron. Constant layoffs, changes all the time, poor morale for anyone who enjoys things outside of work, massive office politics, low raises and cut bonuses while the shareholders keep getting more... it sounds like a dream!

all the boomers who who spent 30 years doing nothing are happy here. they measure their "productivity" by coming into the office.

I agree with the OP. My 28 year career is going very well. Lots of the noise being heard is just that— noise. In another two or three years I will reach a financially secure retirement on my terms. Happy camper here.
