RIFs are going to continue through Q3 2024, per the CFO.It is part of a "workforce optimization" program.
GCIO has been in a hiring freeze for 6 months and most promotions are rejected.

Oh oh.....company-wide travel ban for non-customer facing reasons just was implemented. That is the first step that companies (anthem, UHG, Aetna etc.) take on the road to cost-cutting. First is the travel restrictions, next comes hiring freeze and then comes the company-wide RIF. Fingers crossed that they achieve their savings before the RIF portion has to kick in.
The RIFs never stop with this place. Been here over 15 years and there has ALWAYS been RIFS they have just gotten worse since they starting move more offshore and using AI

Yes one department just had its 4th round of RIFs in less than a year. Those affected were told yesterday.
There were more announced but I think it happened within Carelon. I do not know which part of Carelon, however.
