Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

It's all relative

I’ve given more raises in the past 4 months than in the last several years. So delusional? No. Apparently I’m in a division that rewards its employees and the business is growing. I’ve also laid off zero employees. So apparently not everyone is drinking the same kool aid. Have some had a bad experience ?

Yes but it is not ALL of DXC.

Also, our employee survey results came in. Top marks from the employees... so apparently there are varying experiences and realities under the same hood. This post isn’t meant to invalidate the experience of those who’ve been hit hard by the company. It’s awful and I would never take away from what people are having to go through. Just wanted to share a different perspective ... and no my division isn’t highly paid with big titles. FYI

Non anonymous surveys are not going to get you real results, EVER

Why issue a survey when the results are not known upfront? Clearly it's not in Sal's interest to set the bar too high. Otherwise how would the upper levels earn their bonuses?

Time to drain the DXC swamp of all the oxygen thieves.

@7sre+16Dsdike - go on and shine some shoes or make a cup of tea with your skills - clearly a management stooge.

No pay raise for seven years?!?

I worked here (or a predecessor company) for over 40 years and NEVER went more than 18 months without a raise.

I don’t know where you are, but where I come from that is called l-o-s-e-r.

“ I am a lead and the go to person for my group.... So F U!“

What a class act! With “leads” like this, no wonder DXC is in the condition it is in. Sounds like an insecure blowhard to me. And over 60? Maybe it is dementia. Who knows. But this guy needs a reality check.

@6lws+16Dsdike losers and complainers.. Not true. I am a lead and the go to person for my group and the world when problems come up. I am called upon to fix them. But still no pay increase since 2013 and that was a small token.

You say I should leave, well being over 60 its not that easy. But I still run circles round most of the technical people I work with and hardly ever say not my job. If it needs doing I do it.

So F U!

Where @6lws is correct: just filling in a survey, and hoping something will improve, that's just believing in a non-existing god or higher justice. It will not change anything or anyone.

You need to do something and get into action.
This can range from leaving the company, upskilling, building a union, .. what ever you prefer. That has a higher likeliness of a change towards something better.

Losers who do not receive raises (because they do not deserve them) will always envy and down-vote their betters. They think voicing their grievances in an anonymous survey is the way to force the company’s hand. If they were smart, they’d skip the survey and focus on improving their skill set and productivity. But again, they are NOT smart. Just losers and complainers.

Let me guess..giving raises..do HR or exec management..not anyone involved in doing actual technology related work.

People like you make.me realise the company name on my payslip is doomed...

Employee survey results that were conducted twice over the past year are not an effective, representative tool to gauge the current state of affairs among employees. The primary reason for this is that the data from these surveys are highly subjective and qualitative in nature. Meaning that the data can be misinterpreted very easily. Only someone with an MBA degree would think you can somehow turn qualitative feedback into quantitative feedback (i.e. pretty graphs with nice colors and plenty of blablabla).

Next, the results from the survey cannot be independently verified. Meaning that the people who get to see the results (hint: executives) can twist the truth to such an extent, that it is within their favor. No one can check out the raw, non-politicilized data from the survey itself and draw their own conclusions. The last one being crucial when you're looking for multiple, genuine ways to improve the situation towards a better tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure that in a big company there are different experiences. Also I'm pretty sure most suffer from this kind of management.
The question I have is the geography and division where things seem not to be so awful.

Don't believe the OP at all - place hasn't and unlikely to change from CSC days, Lawrie DXC days and new CEO still hasn't done major changes required to turn the company around and to restore brand / confidence to DXC brand.

Top marks from the employees. Then they are not being honest as they are afraid they will be called out , It was suppose to be anonymous, but then we hear meetings are being called with people who commented, so it's not. The company is the worst place I have worked in 30+ years . I stay because I am over 60 and don't want to start over again. But every day I get closer to saying F ' this place

You must have been and still are way underpaid to have gotten raises... maybe you dont live in the U.S?? DXC let me go without letting my customet know, of course i was a highly paid 20+ years of seniority but not old employee. They tried to fill my position before letting me go with my customer, saying they were moving me somewhere else. My customer hired from outside dxc for my position.

"I’ve given more raises in the past 4 months than in the last several years"

What rise have you given 1%, 2%, 3% wow to people who haven't had a rise in 10 years, that's a big 0.2% a year if your lucky.

And what are you management getting, big bonuses, shares, and millions.

Wheres the justice in that? And your proud of what you have done?
