Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Unexpected one-on-one with my manager next week

This isn't something that has happened before. Anyone have a clue what it could be about? My mind's racing through every worst-case scenario. I’m completely spiraling over here.

Even the spinoff hasn’t-been completed.. It’s already starting. It will probably put on a PIP.

The gearing up for that massive layoff. We need to increase shareholder value. Let’s get those PIPs going. A year later. Sorry you didn’t make it. Also it makes you work a lot harder so we get a lot more work out of you. No matter how hard you work or how much pathetic loyalty you have for this company.

We had to RIF or furlough half of the company. In order to get that shareholder value up. 2.0. Resideo might become the theme of this new company. I’m expecting that we’re in such bad shape. They used us to build automation up.

They’re dumping 40% of their business. Because they’re probably gonna be losing some contracts. Why else would you dump 40% of your revenue. Just read about how Honeywell runs everything into the ground. Be interesting to see if we have a mega merger or end up like Resideo home.

VERY high chance your manager has been pulled up on their own performance and is rushing in 121's to sharpen up their act.

IDPs just more add on to goals, makes no sense. Just like more more metric cr-p dont apply to our jobs.

I agree with the above. Could be as little as they haven't met with you enough. Have you discussed your IDP yet? It is a tracked metric for managers. It could just be a necessary career discussion.

Keep an eye out for the meeting notice to be updated with other invitees, such as an HR temp. If it is bad or good it is too late to do anything about it - except bringing if something bad your own special invitee such as an attorney on speakerphone or in-person.

Honeywell hires cheap so count on HR or Honeywell attorneys being in the lower percentile in their skills. Your attorney could stop them in their tracks maybe long enough for you look for another job.

Wish you luck.

It could be absolutely anything, dont ruin your weekend with worry! There will be plenty of time once you know. Could be a layoff, could be a team member resigned, could be your manager is resigning. Could be they havent checked in with you enough and that came up in their performance review. Managers are required to meet with their directs. Could be another department has requested to interview you. It could be a PIP. You wont know until you know. Try not to fret and face what happens when it happens.
