Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I found a better job

It took me a while but I'm finally free. I can't tell you how much lighter I feel just knowing that come next week, I'll be gone from this place for good. And no, I have no intention of staying for two weeks. Xerox doesn't deserve the courtesy of a two weeks' notice.

to the guy who started in the '80's and never heard the San Francisco story. If you run into Chaplin ask him, he told me that he was the one that went down and retrieved the car. Sorry I can't recall the name of the rep, it was before my time, I started in the mid 70's.

My 401k match was stopped for a couple of years a few years ago.

No idea. Must be a manager at xerox based on the nonsense post and lack of common sense and no sense of humor. What a L0$ER

What are you babbling about? That didn't even make sense.

Who here DIDN'T have their 401k match taken away? Nobody, because we all had it removed with zero notice, well those of us who actually work. Quite possible management didn't because they never suffer the way we do. I guess that would show in the previous comments.

"Just quitting with no notice, you could get more creative. In the early 70's a tech in Vancouver Canada drove his company car to San Francisco and parked it in the long term parking lot at the airport, hopped on a flight home and mailed his resignation letter along with the car keys and location of his company car. Apparently a very angry man."

I started in the 80s and never heard this statement/rumour/incident at all.

"I remember having my 401k stopped with no notice......."

Saying that doesn't prove that it actually happened.

Get real for once, please!!

I remember having my 401k stopped with no notice, going without raises with no notice and an increased workload with no notice. How is this any different than the way we have all been treated? I think we all care about each other but there is a breaking point and other opportunities. Best wishes to you.

Karma does exist. I lived it over the past decade. After being royally screwed by Xerox, I stuck around and exacted my revenge on a couple key entities within this POS company. I literally moved several states away for an entire year before Xerox RIF'd me AND I took a huge commission check on my way out. That was awesome! I'll go to my grave knowing I gave it back to Mother X in spades. I'm now in another industry leading a great team, making real money and surrounded by sane people.

No such thing as karma.

The way that X has treated their dedicated employees over the last 15 years is a total disgrace. They don't deserve notice. Have the moving boxes arrived yet?

Not giving simple notice shows your inept style, your inconsiderate attitude and your petty holier that all personality! If you are toast already, I would say, Good Riddance!!’ What goes around comes around!! Karma is a bxtch!!

Great news. But you do it for your co-workers and your manager (if they're nice). You do it, because someone that you're about to sc--w over is going to remember it if they should ever be a hiring manager with a perfect job for you. It's not the little guys that made your experience miserable. It is the C-suite and a few levels below.

RICK is a c-level xerox acronym. I’m not at liberty to discuss further.

Real professionals always give two weeks notice. Let them decide if they want you to leave right away or not.
