Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Data Platform Team ?

Very interesting indeed.

Let's see what happens now:

  1. HW, License and PaaS each had own Management trees. Consolidation ?
  2. Infighting reduced ?
  3. Tremendous internal overhead in each three LOBs. Consolidation ?
  4. SCs are pooled ? Management consolidation ?

We shall see.

Phase one completed: Moves have been made. PaaS management has won. Calling all the shots.
We are now in Phase two: They want attrition. Smaller territories, higher goals, and less commission. Rather have you quit than pay you out the door.

Phase three: Performance management will hit around November to run off the rest.

Rumors Abound:

  1. New Territories and Goals by June 4th
  2. 20-25% layoff in Management. Some Managers must interview for jobs this week
  3. 10-12% layoff in ICs
  4. SCs to be pooled
  5. Notification of either RIFed, or Role, Territory, Managers on May 21st.

No clue if any of this is actually true.
Let us know thoughts.

I am always humbled by people's comment here as I see they can be better at managing Oracle than the current management.

The same points likely apply to over half the teams in Oracle
