There was a time when top performers were revered. When they spoke up, you listened. Now you just laugh.
@4zzc+1lwM9tHo So true! They also need to name it something else. I’ve qualified and gone to many of these and while the achievements are there on paper, this reward is not a result of any sort of effective leadership by individuals— many who have gone were known for treating colleagues horribly in an effort to get their quota
There’s no tenure, documented success or excellence anywhere. It’s gone and won’t be back.
I've been to numerous LC trips and they were actually really good opportunities to network with successful Salespeople across the business and trade ideas, experiences and some of those relationships last to this day. We would have a day of meetings, then it was dialed down to a half day, then zero meetings. But the comeraderie was organic, meaningful and real. This sounds like a low-rent version and not at all inspiring or attainable unless you tanked last year and get lucky in 2023. The spirit of the achievement is gone. It used to be, make goal 3/4 or 3/3 years - then it was make goal in that timeframe and remain in the top 10% (Haltiwanger winners would go regardless but that was only implemented the year before Covid, if I remember correctly). You actually had to have tenure, documented success and continued excellence. Now it's - win the lottery - no consideration to past performance required and you go. Sorry, not buying it.
i bet they just give the reps and managers that make the trip $2500 and cancel the trip to save money.
I remember the Good Old Days when Fallon blamed everything bad on the underperforming textbook market in South Africa.
Anybody else remember that one?
I'll never forget his C-suite chutzpah.
Top 10% last year- one of the hardest years to make goal ever, got to choose from some $300 prizes on a website. There will be more managers than reps on that trip. Will senior management who didn't make their goal still get to go like in the past? How about a reasonable goal since we are expecting negative growth through 2025?
It’s always been a boondoggle for execs. Did they really find 30 people who made their numbers? What a miserable trip
Updates?
I got laid off last year, and you telling me the company could afford a sales trip but couldn’t afford to keep me employed? Wow. LOL
Only thirty people are going? There will be more execs than Salespeople! It used to be the top 10%. Talk about selling the snake oil, thinking we're all complete id--ts and wouldn't see thru this BS. Wowwowweewow.
Sales award trip to the Bahamas for the top sales people. craig is a horrible sales person and couldn’t even sell a vacation!
Hope everything is okay. But i think HE and POLS are both on the chopping block.
So what was it about?
