Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Notified we are going back to office by 2nd quarter 2023

We were told today that all employees and roles enterprise wide who were in office when pandemic started will be returning by 2nd quarter 2023 (after holidays and winter) to the office where offices are still leased or owned by Allstate. Some that are shuttered now will be re-opening. Roles that were work from home or home based employees prior to the pandemic will remain work from home. Roles that were in office before the pandemic which no longer have a suitable office center within "a reasonable distance" are being evaluated for their return to an office setting and options available. Home office will have a center presence in the Chicago area by 2nd quarter 2023 from what we were told. The point they made is this is to reduce the costs of working from home that the company incurs when they are utilizing and paying for existing centers and buildings. Supposedly Allstate said they spend millions annually in shipping costs, keeping employees working from home stocked with needed resources and equipment, and the monthly allowance that was given to home workers during the pandemic is a cost to reduce.

There are no landscape costs for buildings they no longer own.

@4voj+1iK24PLv The landscaping still happens whether or not people are there or not there, yes there is less usage of toilet paper but that is minimal.

Lol! Fake news! What cost of maintaining at home workers? No landscaping costs. No snow removal. I’m paying for my own toilet paper. Managers are refusing to approve equipment. I’m working on a laptop with an illegal mouse and the company hasn’t mailed me anything except solicitations for the hack 401k management program.

How about Allstate be the first company to use their office buildings across the country to house the homeless and desperate immigrants coming across the border? You are very inclusive and equitable Tommy so go for it. I will give you some applause points for that. I will NEVER go back to an Allstate office!

I bought my own desk and pay for my own supplies. Admittedly they have a bunch of large buildings they cannot sell. Tommy Boy can set the example by returning to Callahan Auto Parts first.

Perfect ! What a great way to get rid of your American workforce so you can replace them with more Pune adjusters and processors ! Such a strategy ! Guess the Americans aren’t quitting or retiring fast enough. What a he-l ho-e this place is.

Sounds to me like they are stuck with a bunch of real estate they can’t sell and need to justify having it. As for me, force me back to the office and bye bye!
