Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Mass Layoffs in February 2022???

Just like last February I expect this February 2022 to be worse in terms of layoffs. No, I don't have any background knowledge of this, but my gut tells me it's happening and
it will be more widescale then last year.

What does everyone else feel considering all the discord in the company and with the ongoing virus. Curious to know what other people feel is going to happen.

I was booted from Corp IT for not getting Jab and no religious exemption given. I had pastor letter as well. We need to create a website looking for people booted from CENTENE for a non- performance reasons (must get jab, no exceptions) - then create class action lawsuit.

I have been thinking the same thing for quite a while. Lay offs after a big takeover is sealed seems to be their thing, so I fully expect it will happen this spring. My gut is screaming at me on this one.

Unvaxed definitely got booted. Jan. 27 was my last day allowed to work, 2/4/22 official termination date.

I was just booted 1/27/22 last day worked and 2/4/22 official term date for not uploading my proof of vaccination as a condition of employment. I was denied religious exemption and appeal. (Corp IT) The "value creation" agenda and focus on profit margins surely indicates a mass layoff very soon.

If you were denied religious exemption file a complaint to: https://www.eeoc.gov & a state civil rights complaint.

The COVID vaccine requirement as a condition of employment holdouts will be the first let go, last day worked 01/28/22 and paid through 02/05/22. Unless 30% or so of current employees are unvaccinated, there will most certainly be another workforce reduction that will be executed in the same manner as it was in feb/march of last year.

@4vhe+1eyE03q4 You’re right about ODM (Ohio) delaying until July for all MCO’s, not just Centene. But, at the end of 2020, they laid off a number of people at Buckeye pending the RFA and still have not backed filled.

Ohio—-do you really think the contract starts in July because of Centene? It’s because the state wasn’t ready to implement the changes they had planned. There are 6 other plans besides Centene, all starting in July.

2 to 3 weeks later. Sounds like the person who posted this might just be right about the gut feeling of layoffs happening in February after all… based on your analysis.

May not be immediate? Actually, it might be. Once the Wellcare deal was sealed, layoffs were announced like 2-3 weeks later.

Centene is closing on the Magellan purchase 1/4/22. Hold onto your hats......it may not be immediate layoffs, but you can see the writing on the wall. Total duplication of jobs between Centene & Magellan and excess will be shed.

I get corp bonus and they told me I wouldn’t get it, I’m certainly a key contributor I do 3 or more jobs???? So why do some who get bonus get it and others don’t? Does this mean I’ll get laid off?

The bonus is based on last year's performance. So, chances are people would still get it if they were laid off in February. I had a direct report who was laid off and she still got her bonus.

Yes, if they do the layoff I won't be surprised if it came right before they are supposed to give out those bonuses, so they don't have to pay them out to us.

Oh I hope not, what a mess that was!

I can't even get a feeling if people that refused the vaccine will truly get booted out the door. There have been conflicting posts regarding if it will really happen as threatened earlier this year.
