Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Always lucky to be rich enough to retire financially

Then, none of us have to deal with workplace nonsense and bullies and unnecessary cr-p.
Hoping to win lotto and get out of this rut of nonstop id-ot game at work where it is impossible to stay sane, even if we try to do the bare minimum and stay out of trouble.
There are always colleagues who try to get under your skin.
If we could only work hard, quickly save money to live peacefully for 20-30 yra that we can move on feom workplace nuisance.

It's not so easy for many people.

  1. The job market, and like a previous response stated. You have companies outsourcing overseas for cheap labor. Which if they wish to sacrifice quality, deal with large scale communication and cultural issues. That is their choice.
  1. It depends on your demographics, such as age, region, etc. Whether companies will hire you.

You made a statement as if there was a abundant number of jobs out there for the picking. That is not the case.

It's impossible to get a job in today's IT market. These shithole companies like Gainwell only want to hire Indians.

Friends- I am so very confused by this site and the people who act like we have no choice about where we work. I keep my eye on job postings and have my resume ready for when I want to or am forced to move on. If my mental health was badly affected or I was as miserable about my job as so many commenters I’d move on. We aren’t prisoners. I don’t get it

There is certainly a trend of bad management finding their way from one company to another. They need to get rid of the hold-overs that have found their way from DXC, Molina, HMS, etc and get some fresh blood. Individuals from outside the company mergers, with a proven track records.

Everyday is a project gone bad due to ill-planning and implementation by the same individuals. Which costs the company money and the jobs of decent people.

@Robert

Why is it best to wait around for your chance to get fired? A sale means new leaders and new owners. How they choose to operate the company is unknown and unpredictable. You can control your destiny right now by leaving and finding something better. Waiting puts your destiny in someone else’s hands and is unpredictable.

Best way forward for Gainwell employees would be to stay put and do nothing and wait for the sale!

Once sold, there will be a random layoff where most of incompetent leaders/doers will get fired.

Gainwell has double trouble - both leaders and doers (mostly those that are 5+yrs with the company) are essentially not required.
Guess, that is 80-85% of this company.

The people that are incompetent are the leaders. The entire leadership team couldn’t run a yard sale successfully.

Any person of sound mind wouldn’t go near Gainwell Technologies.

They need to get rid of everyone that has worked for this company in some form or fashion for over five years or so. These people are all incompetent.

They need to get rid of more of the bitter DXC people. And I feel sorry for them as well because they went from one company doing Black Fridays to another.

@Lowly-me, the talkers have overtaken the do-ers. Such as what happened when the takers started out-numbering the makers. Good luck with that, Veritas.

We have some guys that will literally bust-a-nut to control all aspects of any interaction. Between them and the awesome pivot table jockeys that we have for managers. There's no need for anyone else to show up for work particularly when you have the A-team that can do it all.

The folks that will leave the remedial stuff for others, but are quick to grab hold of anything that could be considered high-visibility, and the only skill-set needed is to talk a lot.

I'm not a A-type personality and proud of it. I don't mind letting other people talk, have a thought, learn or exhibit their skill-sets. I don't need to be the end-all that holds the universe together.

Everyday I wake up nauseas, knowing that I need to go to work and have to put up with gas-lighting and some type of bullying by my manager, supervisors and some co-workers. And the managers or individuals above them, covering for those performing the narcissistic deeds (Good ol' boys club).

From the managers/supervisors perspective, ultimately it's a control measure to insure that you don't exceed them in anyway. Because if you review the background for each one of them. You will realize they have no real experience in the areas they manage apart from being project managers for the majority of their careers.
