@goth+1v27eqPT, great point and example for LOA, but you lost me with the CEO pay.[1] Since you brought it up, according to a May 30, 2024 CEOWorld Magazine article, Mike Sievert was ranked 16th out of 414 CEOs on the list.[2] Not bad, eh! It pays to…

  • Be smart
  • Not procrastinate
  • Make and achieve goals
  • Be the CEO of an awesome company.[3]

You can be laid off while on LOA, it happened to someone I know. One of the Directors that has zero business being a Director contacted her while on a LOA to tell her she no longer has a job.

How much does T-Mobile CEO make?
Total annual CEO compensation was reported as US$37m for the year to December 2023. That's a notable increase of 29% on last year.

Merging with that sh-t-hole company Sprint was the end of T-Mobile culture.

The H1B's typically need to be led by the nose to work, have the work explained for them in detail, and then sc--w it up. You can underpay them intentionally and they can't complain. If they do, you pull the H1B and they're gone in 2 weeks. H1B's also take jobs that could filled by laid off US Citizens.

@"I just hear the ceo say we would be jobs positive at least until 2026!"...

Ha, Ha, Ha, like Mike Sievert has any credibility?!! Flashback to Sprint & T-Mobile merger that was also billed as being jobs positive!

@1csw+1v27eqPT, quick question, what is wrong with the H1Bs? What did they do wrong?

There are not layoffs! I just hear the ceo say we would be jobs positive at least until 2026! This is the good news!

There was a 3 year commitment to not laying off employees, and 3 years for Dirs, Sr. Dirs, VPs to stay on. That commitment ended in April 2023 and a large number of Sir/SDir/VP's from Legacy Magenta left with a very nice golden parachute.

What 5 year commitment? I only know of a 6 year one in 2026...

If LOA was protected from layoffs, there wouldn’t be any good workers left at this he-l hole. Most of the folks on LOA have it for anxiety and self inflicted health problems and don’t show up to work already. Many of those folks should be first to go.

This is the reality right now:

  1. Go into work every morning with the assumption you will be laid off.
  2. If you make it through the day, you get to celebrate your relief that night
  3. Wake up in the morning and repeat step 1

Perfect time to get laid off. Right after bonus, stock and ESPP. Many would volunteer!

I can think of more than a few SVP, EVP, VP, and H1Bs, who could be given the boot!
