Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Centene's Reputation

I wasn't an employee very long with CNC, but if they ever had a good reputation in the industry...it's gone now.

I hate they are on my CV.

As noted, you can believe me or not. From the Facets comment did you come from WellCare? No employee strictly from Centene knows Facets and most of the business is from Marketplace that makes $$$ & no Facets there. Most of the Medicaid PMPMs were cut sharply by the States this past year or so and are not bringing in the $$$ that they were & no Facets there. And yes, if Centene is your only health insurance experience you are not as marketable as someone who has also worked elsewhere in your career. It's not something I'll argue about as it is a fact. When I was initially hired at Centene I could tell who had other experience vs those that did not. It's nobody's fault, it just gives you more well rounded knowledge in the health care business. I wish anyone looking elsewhere the best of luck. The job market is not what it was a couple of years ago.

Disagree. 1st Centene uses Facets if you work on the Medicare side. Its not required for Medicaid or Commercial insurance. I do find it interesting though that if a person devoted their career to 1 company that any other would "expect" you to know their competitors systems. Anyone can be trained on an operating system or application. The whole point is that they do not use the same systems/apps because they want to remain competitive - whatever the he-l that means anymore. Stop acting like its lack of knowledge on part of the applicant to discourage people. I didn't know any of Centene's systems/apps - and they trained me and still are on every single one of the constant new ones they keep implementing. Which in and of it itself is a waste of time because they change sh-t every couple of months. They are constantly talking about "streamlining" processes but never do. For FS they don't even provide offshore with half the cr-p we have to use and that adds to the constant problems in claims ops. Amisys - ABS - Burgess - MultiPlan - Webstrat - Quantum - CenPAS - CenProv - ICertis - Emptoris and on and on and on and on and on and on. This is the only company I have ever worked for that requires 500 different applications to perform 1 task. And THIS is only a small percentage of why this company will implode - it's a dumpster fire about to burn out of control.

Post ID: @1vro+1rJ1yw7C while you may not have needed Facets for whatever position you applied for, I can 100% tell you that none of the companies mentioned use Centene's systems. And, as I now work for a company that frequently pops up on these threads, believe me or not, if you don't know Facets at least two of those three will not hire you for any position where it might be used to do your job. And that is the same with other companies; they want you to know their systems, so they can get you in there and have you hit the ground running. Make use of LinkedIn and add key words to get noticed. If it's strong enough, their recruiters will contact you.

Time to put my skills to a more ethical line of work. What say you? https://www.forbes.com/sites/robertpearl/2021/03/01/how-health-insurance-became-americas-biggest-hustle/?sh=6c7a1280476f

The "industry" is a racket. You want to make some real money go out get some su-kers to pay you each month to cover their hospital bills if they get sick…then don’t. You or I would be put in prison for this but somehow in America It’s all legal.

I would disagree only because I have applied for positions that I'm overqaulifed for down to entry level roles just to make ends meet. Business operations heavy with a CV that is ATS friendly. No need for Facets.

DECLINED. I've never had this issue before, so it has to be my association with Centene.

I have applied with Molina several times and got almost instant copy paste rejections - positions I am qualified for. Landed an interview last month and I was turned down for a position I am more than qualified for. They want to pay entry level wages. I mean $20hr and below - not even willing to negotiate. With Humana I got as far as the the 10 prescreen questions which they already asked on the application. The only no I answered was as to whether I was familiar with thier operating system MedHok. 1 week later copy paste rejection. Its a joke.

One reason those companies you list won't interview is because you have to know the Facets system. They don't train on it....

I agree, and especially for those looking to remain in the industry. I have heard a few people suggest Molina, Humana, and CareSource are not even giving them a chance to interview for roles they are clearly qualified to perform.

I agree. It would seem like quite a few people that use to work for Centene - especially most recently are feeling like they are being overlooked for positions because Centene is on their CV. However, that argument can also be made for many other companies that have similar reps.
