Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It’s the stock price stupid

Executives care about the stock price
Wall Street cares about the stock price
Individual stock holders care about the stock price

When are you grunts going to figure it out. ALL is a profit company, not a growth company. Has been for decades….PIF growth over that time proves it out. As do pricing actions.

How many of you would give back 20-50% of your growth to make sure that the companies you are invested in has happy employees. How much does employee satisfaction weigh into your decision to invest. Guessing not much if any at all.

This company isn’t going down anytime soon. It’s the stock price grunt. Happy Monday

@4lwd+1rIMprJx- your contribution to the discussion is monumental. Wow man, such insight and majestical analysis of the class warfare between the haves and have nots ... just so enlightening. I bet you dedicate a significant portion of your time giving back to the community and volunteering with your church to help less fortunates.. you seem like you really have your hand on the pulse of what makes the world work.. awesome man.. just awesome.. thank you, really just thank you.

It’s laughable to read these comments aimed at the leadership of the company. You all should have studied harder in school.

"Executives care about the stock price
Wall Street cares about the stock price
Individual stock holders care about the stock price"
This is true, no doubt. But so what.. greed always tries to justify itself.
"Customers don’t pay off employees, but your paycheck is the most expensive line item of their premium" cynical and exaggerated..
The quarterly bonuses of current execs and the golden parachutes of all the failed execs at this place dwarf any paycheck from front line employees that actually do the "grunt work" of providing the service to the customers that pay the premium. Even A.I. would cost something to make sure the company does its fundamental function.. WHICH IS TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER THAT PAYS THE PREMIUM.. Not to make money for the stockholder.
"stock holders pay your salary" hahaha, that's funny corporate B.S. but also just not true. ** Just a basic fact.. insurance companies make their money that pays for over head such as salaries/benefits from the premiums collected from customers not the investors that buy stock.. To a lesser degree the company also makes money off of 'fees/commissions' and investments like property, etc.. The fundamental existence of the company is to provide the service to the customer that it is contractual and morally obligated to provide, not the execs pay and bonuses or the stock holders bottom line. Its really amazing how the corrupted oligarchy propaganda has actually convinced people that they don't matter and our whole reason to be is to serve them. Don't believe the hype..

I'm not surprised that with the increase in stock value over the last few months, a few in the c-suite made the smart move to sell some of their shares and enjoy the profits of their labor.

But to recognize that would go against the agenda of the haters who want to destroy the company that employs them.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned how a few of the c-suite sold off a few million in Allstate stock a month or 2 ago. I am sure you can google the articles out there.

Often a big cash-out like that comes from their insider knowledge that the stock is way overvalued and/or trouble is brewing.

Customers don’t care about employee satisfaction either. Get over yourselves grunts.
Customers don’t pay off employees, but your paycheck is the most expensive line item of their premium.
Some of your customers enjoy hot curry, this poster is just d-mb.
At the end of the day, the shareholder actually pays your salary or hourly wage. Wake up grunts.

It’s the stock price grunt.

It is the stock price. Gross but true. And THAT is what senior leadership cares about. Not you! Not the hard working frontline employee! They care about the stock price, the board, and the combined ratio. Until people realize that they’ll continue posting on this board.
