@hcza+1ctGwEma there is no news on if wfh will need weekly tests or vaccination. Allstate is hyper liberal so they will enforce it instead of take fine but I am hoping wfh isn't needed . What's the point ?

@2maz-hey buddy-vax up or vacate.
Good news everyone will be required to get a vaccine or be tested and show you results weekly. This includes wfh.
Face it. If you work at Allstate you are not real bright. Your chances of meeting a normal life expectancy are already below average. Covid will just help you along faster.
@4hwu+1ctGwEma FDA approval doesn't mean a while lot.
FDA had approved tons of things that ended up losing their approval a couple years later due to adverse side effects, permanent injury and/or death.
Just Google "dr-gs that lost FDA approval" and see some of the things that were approved and then what caused them to get recalled. It just highlights why waiting is justified.
The surcharge for unvaccinated is a good idea. If you get COVId because you are unvaccinated and incur huge costs, then that hits all of us. They adjust the premiums paid by each of us based on the plan experience. I don’t want to pay more because some people failed to get the fda approved vaccine.
@3mna+1ctGwEma nah, more people just won't use Delta airlines
Now that Delta
Has introduced surcharge for unvaccinated, I guarantee Allstate will be following soon.
@3rwa-you are correct. It is the workers comp exposure that will drive the mandate. The only other solution is to separate vaccinated from unvaccinated and that is a larger expense than losing some current employees over a mandate. All about the $$.
If you have anything other than a 100% wfh position I would see it mandated. Employee liability is too great for them to be on the hook when people return to office and a couple weeks later a bunch of people are out with Covid
Wow. Hard to believe this is a layoff website based on comments in this thread. Some are passionate about shot...some are passionate against. Neither are mo--ns for their thoughts. If the company makes it mandatory, we will have to cross that bridge. Until that time it is a choice and those choices should be respected pro or con.
Delta airlines announced $200 surcharge per month for employee's that refuse the the vaccine. I agree with prior post regarding the spreadneck mentality based on misinformation, lies and hysteria surrounding a very safe and effective vaccine. Trained medical professionals more qualified than the dolts on social media spreading the misinformation for political gain. Stop falling for the grifters and conmen trying to regain power at the expense of human life. Science and medicine should not be dividing the country like some political parties are.
They will succumb to 3rd party/vendor pressure. Virtually every IT company will mandate-many already have done so. Allstate can’t live on an Island….
It won’t be required, fake news.
Especially with so many people working from home….
Roll up or roll out.
Get a vaccine or move on. Pretty simple.
Claims can’t afford to force people to anything further! They are already quitting at record pace!
Texas Instruments is interesting as they are requiring vaccines for employers AND contractors, but only in the US. The US is only 1/3 of its workforce.
Can’t compare them to Allstate though. TI’s employees are all onsite. I doubt Allstate would require vaccines for home based workers. I could see them encouraging hybrid works to WFH this fall due to Delta rather than mandate a vaccine.
Texas Instruments announced a vaccine mandate this morning. Surely Allstate and other companies will follow.
This is hilarious ! Come on people. This is HR’s way of doing a straw poll ! Allstate is going to require vaccines as soon as possible for all in office, CAT and field. If you are hybrid, better roll up your sleeve ! Ain’t no way Allstate won’t mandate. Especially now that other companies will. Get your vaccine or your job and your vaccine will be given to India sooner than later. People are dying from this. Ain’t no way Allstate will take that risk of a lawsuit by not requiring vaccines of their employees. Roll up or roll out ! Either in the job or in life. The virus is coming for the unvaccinated.
I can state for a fact that neither mandatory vaccination nor a benefits surcharge is being planned.
I can say for a fact that mandated vaccination of Allstate employees will not be happening. A stiff and large surcharge on your 2022 benefits however.....stay tuned.
IMO, Most corps are going to ultimately require it. That said, you people that whine about layoffs in a pandemic, then come back and whine about having to take the best known solution to protecting yourselves and others are absolute hypocrites and no better than the leadership of this company that treats you so poorly.
Grow up, take a side or move on and stop it already. 15 months of incessant whining is no way to go through life.
I can see Allstate handling the vaccination like smoking. The unvaccinated will have a health insurance surcharge. I’m not advocating this, but I can see it happening during our benefit selection coming this fall.
Doubt it. They don’t require any other vaccines. Never had to show a physical form to prove I’ve had MMR and polio, for example.
This is just more shitposting. Not even a rumor exists right now. It’s just someone asking “can you predict the future?”
I do not believe for a minute that Allstate will exert much effort or additional expense to accommodate an ever decreasing number of unvaccinated employees. Worse yet for employees, no separation benefit which of course further benefits Allstate.
I'm 100% against the vaccine, but understand people that take it. Not trying to convince one way or the other. I'd be ok if allstate requires the vaccine in office but also offers a second option of work from home with vaccination. It they just let people go for not being vaccinated that is wrong
I am vaccinated, and I would look for a new job if the company decided to let unvaccinated people go. Compelling people to undergo a medical procedure that they're not comfortable with would be crossing a line in my book.
They won’t for WFH workers. I suspect they eventually will for in office workers. The tide wiill turn and employers will start mandating - Allstate won’t be among the first, but they will follow. We are all about benchmarking.
The FDA approval removes the last litigation risk. My guess they will as will most other employers. Otherwise they will have to separate vaccinated workforce from unvacined-much easier to just mandate.
They should and probably will
Too many places are hiring work from home where it won’t matter if you’re vaccinated or not.
In the middle of a labor shortage? Good luck finding new people after having to fire a good chunk of your workforce lol
I think leadership will wait until it's politically convenient for them to do so. If we start seeing a bunch of companies require the vax, you can be sure as sh-t Allstate will jump on that bandwagon too. They've been suspiciously quiet about COVID and vaccines. My guess is that they're just waiting to see what happens in the rest of the market
I'll fu----g walk. Job market is too hot right now to put up with any of that bu-----t
