What are the chances of LCO site closing in the next couple of years? Be honest, 10%, 20%, etc.

Longmont is gone. Shopping the biz. No takers. Why? No leadership, no compelling products, and no design wins. WD is kicking our *a-s. Lyve is a joke. HAMR is all we have now.
if only it would
@4gxd+1umdJyAQ we've lost that lov'in feeling
Pune next to go...
Somebody is really butthurt about a bunch of LCO people with huge egos I guess. Do you really think it’s not the case everywhere in companies? You think somehow people in California don’t have huge egos? Come on man. It’s everywhere like that. You should have experienced Shakopee in the heyday. The egos where so out of control they brought in consultants to mitigate.
Wow.. let’s close both LCO and SSDC.
In my opinion LCO should be closed. Too much politics, egoistic, high headed and arrogant people.
Closing it will solve all the above problems
Any idea on next products that are new
The closure of the SSDC is imminent. A significant contributing factor is the lack of financial support from the local government in the form of grants. Additionally, the management style of the factory VP has had a negative impact on morale and fostered internal conflicts. Furthermore, the departure of key management personnel who were supportive of the Singapore Group has left the organization vulnerable to external threats. Regrettably, these circumstances indicate a challenging future for the SSDC.
What exactly is accomplished at SSDC? There's no products developed there.
Anyone heard about SSDC closing end of 2025?
Good bootlicking
There is a manager in LcO who survived every single layoff till now, even his team members get laid but not him. What’s the secret sauce
Next big project is GPU to tackle Nvda/AMD/Intel
We can have Peter Gabriel as a spokesman!
@1ful+1umdJyAQ sledgeHAMR 😂😂
need more space at LCO to house the egos
SSD!!!! Fxxxx the Virtual Design Centre
What is the next project. Don’t tell me the sledgeHAMR
It wouldn't make sense as the bulk of product development is centered at LCO.
With that said, the brilliant minds that run the company, the ones who sold to Huawei while WD stopped, will once again show us their awesome decisionmaking. I predict they will flush another group of senior engrs, close LCO and move the product development to NRM and assign product engineering to all the new grad hires.
as long as it is financially viable
@uot+1umdJyAQ How do you tell it’s low cost
Everyone at LCO earns more than 300k on average and no one works beyond 4pm , just got for a walk after 4pm around south west Longmont.
Jolly life
Despite the clueless nonsense posted here, LCO is lower cost of development than other sites - TCO is overpaid old company, CA shows up late and leaves early with traffic and a high cost of living, SSDC has no talent and therefore can't get anything done to a schedule.
Fake news. As per reports of core leader
Microsoft, Meta and Amazon are investing in LCO
Lot of great high headed employees no one wants to loose such talent
That would be costly to get out of that 5 year lease 3 years too early. But maybe big layoff to clean out desks first. Seagate likes to act early 5 min after economic and finances turn downward. You might consider offloading your STX stock soon. Just saying. HAMR failing so far. Customers rejecting.
LCO belongs to FAANG club, not SSDC. Talking about the income of employees in SSDC, it believes the salary is below the average in the local market.
Heard LCO closing soon, the next RnD FAANG side moving to SSDC Singapore end 2025.
