Did anybody hear any whispers?

HCSC is Health Care Service Corporation. 2nd largest Blue Plan behind Anthem. 15 million members. BCBS of IL, TX, OK, NM & MT. Have no idea if it has anything to do with the layoffs. However, layoffs (and both companies have cut significantly) are typically a tell tale sign of a merger. Efficiencies of scale by getting rid of duplicate jobs.
What is HCSC and what does it have to do with all of the Anthem layoffs?
Re: "Check out the HCSC comments on this site."
Interesting insight. Did not know this was in the works.

Are you referring to the Town Hall meeting? The only thing I got from that meeting is that they are really pushing digital services now.
Claims departments were always at risk for layoffs. Reporting is probably at risk next year. Everything will hinge on cloud strategy. Frankly in the local plans there is alot of waste in sales and provider Relations...by whichever department can sell that they are the most vital stays afloat. Biggest issue is the lack of leadership from most managers in anthem and the widespread obsession of rank over innovation. I predict anthem will have a merger in five years or be bought by Amazon.
Already starting to feel the pain of outsourcing. I had three whopping claims this year, all my routine dr. Visits nothings changed Simpliest claims ever all got paid wrong. Now of course after calling customer service they are all up for rereview.. Eye Roll... really Anthem ..?
Denver Anthem site laying off people in claims dept.
With all of the corporate debt that they've piled up, they can't afford to get rid of Gail or Gloria. They don't have enough to pay for their golden parachutes!
Anthem is now forcing managers to rescind job offers made as part of cost cutting.
Re: three people Gail, Gloria and janitor? The janitors are contract. But whatever changes happen, sales will definitely stay even if it has a different look.
Layoffs hit yesterday. I know of 2 managers so far over eba coders and a Nasco manager
I’m planning on retiring in March 2021. I wish they would offer an early retirement package. Sign me up.
They’re not going to be satisfied until it’s 3 people left onshore in this company (Gail, Gloria and the janitor) and even the janitor better watch his back.
I am (was) a PM in enterprise execution, was RIF'd today (hurray)! I've been considering quitting the hell that is Anthem for a year now but decided to bide my time to catch a RIF. It works well for my future plans, best wishes to you all, you're gonna need them if you're a non-Indian FTE in the US.
Someone mentioned layoffs were announced on Thursday, August 13th. Which groups are/were impacted?
Man, don't get my hopes up like that (G retiring post). LOL!!! Heard some project managers are getting cut. Don't know who or how many.
Layoffs announced today (I was in the group).
She’s sold millions in anthem stock since March...

That out of touch corpse is retiring???? Good.
@4eyf+16jXQNNv I'm pretty sure that's sarcasm haha
@4fzu+16jXQNNv Gloria finally retiring. ALLELUIA. Where is this information coming from. ? If true that's the best news I've heard all day
Gloria finally retiring!!
It’s best to start applying for new jobs and leave Anthem on your own terms. Working at Anthem has never been fun but now it’s just a nightmare. Please do not apply at United Health Group.....They are more worse company to work for.
Not whispers. It's going to happen. Next week and possibly in September as a previous poster indicated. This is not new information Anthem is notorious for this. Good luck to us all. From previous posts hold on it's going to be bumpy ride. I get the Budget cut post' you have to Read into it, be in the know..
Most major fortune 100 companies are announcing layoffs at this time...it can only mean layoffs
Most likely layoffs. This would be inline with the budget cuts rumor going around. My boss has been in fire drill meetings all week and other managers are in last minute budget meetings. This will continue until Anthem has 20-30% of their workforce in the U.S. and the rest offshore/outsourced.
Managers are online in after hours meetings. Never a good sign. So tired of this.
I'm thinking layoff. APM accounts got updated this week and the LO APMIDs have end dates of 8/31/2020 or 9/30/2020. Check your time sheet...
Don't know anything...I would imagine it would either be a merger announcement or massive layoffs.
