Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Director level lay offs

I’ve heard that between 2-400 level director level jobs will be cut. Everyone is talking about it but is it going to happen? The rumor is that people who have been there a long time will be cut to make room for fresh approaches. If it’s going to happen I wish they would rip off the band aid. It’s a great company and I love working there. It’s hard with the conservative new leadership.

The layoffs ARE at director sr dir and exec dir levels. That's it. Right now no one at lower levels unless they are being terminated for reasons other than needing to thin out the layers on the upper level. I mean if someone is being let go due to performance and it is unrelated to the company changes.

We have been told the 400 roles are not restricted to director level only and the layoffs will continue through February.

Layoffs started yesterday and will continue through the week. $*it rolls downhill, won’t be long before it hits employees under management level. Anyone with a good substantiated years of service will be next on the cutting board. They want to outsource employees & now talk of mega merger with Anthem.

“A “mass layoff” under Illinois WARN is a reduction in force at a single site of employment that is not the result of a “plant closing” and results in employment losses during any 30-day period (or, in some cases, during any 90-day period) of 25 or more full-time employees if they constitute one-third or more of full-time employees at the site, or 250 or more full-time employees.“

So, if March 12th was the layoff date … "Illinois WARN applies to employers with 75 or more full-time employees (excluding part-time workers) and requires employers to provide 60 days advance notice of pending plant closures or mass layoffs." Here it is January 26th and the Illinois WARN website shows "NO" layoffs for HCSC!

I heard a rumor of a 3/12/2020 for lay-off date. That makes sense given that is about the time bonuses are paid out.

no sympathies for these guys...they wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice blue badges to make the numbers like they did in 2016. These guys don't have our backs.
