Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Yup, I was laid off today

And now I'm here. In regards to what they kept repeating was a "business decision" resulting from Gainwells deep-dive into their business model. Which was done in hopes to better the business. They made it sound like several people would go, and just kept saying "business decision" every time they were asked why. But I've been in my department for 4 years and have never seen a mass wave of many people all gone together so I'll believe it when I see it. By the sounds of this thread Gainwell is maybe a serial layoff sprinkler, casually letting people go as they please before they've been with the company for too long.

Yep do nothing and get paid.

That is the best move working for Gainwell Technologies.

I agree, why talk about severance. When is the next layoffs? It is boring unless there is some juicy news.
Do nothing and draw paychecks - that’s what I do all day. Part of HR team so we are safe until major mass layoffs.

It’s a pretty sad time when all Gainwell employees start researching what severance is when employees get laid off.

I believe that to be correct, but it also caps at 12 weeks pay (relevant only if you’ve worked for the company longer than 12 years).

My understanding, from folks who have been laid off already, the severance is 1 week's pay for each year you worked at Gainwell.

Gainwell never has cared about the employees. It’s pretty evident.

Layoffs in my department this morning.

I was lucky enough to survive. But 8 of my coworkers were not.

Sadly Gainwell is unpredictable. They layoff here and there. Sometimes it’s in mass other times it’s just a few. But the reality is that they have no value for the employee. Zero. Nada.

Yes of course, I am a business analyst (was, I guess) working on one of Gainwells Medicaid contracts. I can confirm that my specific branch faced only 4 layoffs yet still called it "company wide." All ba's, dba's or IT people. Very odd.

I’m sorry to hear that. It sounds like you did all you could. You’ll bounce back and thrive.

Would you be willing to share type of position and/or group you were in/with?
