This is ridiculous! Schlumberger laid off everyone and those left cut their pay and incentives. Schlumberger hasn’t been the best at pay for the past ten years. SLB is gonna pay when people will get better jobs and pay because they cheaped out. If it was for those extra a lot of people wouldn’t and won’t work for this company. It’s terrible to see it go down the drain in the last couple years. You can’t mess with peoples pay and expect loyalty when you get rid of incentives which they decided outweighed the sh–ty pay. When is SLB gonna figure out they stopped being “the best” a long time ago? It’s sad.

And the international school you talking about , I know ! It is not worth it when you compare the good public school here .. just a show off . I know the circulum , not worth taking it . And HRA you talking is before tax . So at end of the day you getting 140000$ IN HAND , whereas other company giving 300 k in hand . I hope you got the difference .. Proud expat slb . Wait for the restructuring or renewal of your visa .. and furlough for you is for the rest of the year . And what about the travel allowance !

Number of visa guys losing jobs is astronomical as well . Flights to India are suspended and they have 60-90 days to change visa or find jobs . Lets see in August.

It contradicts my conception in SLB. American peers are working hard. on the other hand, the relative of visa workers have the nationalist gang cover. those leeches only work less forty hours per week. Americans work can work by themself. The visa manager has to let their visa team do same job.
The most of visa employees came from the poorest, corrupt, and autocracy countries. whenever you work in the USA, you have to learn US LAW and culture. Undoubtedly, they used own country's experience to manage American employees. SLB gives visa employees a chance to work the USA. They will do whatever they can without a bottom line, a few years later, visa employees can transfer worldwide. However, Americans are law-abiding. They live in the USA, their children live here. Americans won't break the rule like the visa employees. American employees have never lost. Their only follow the law of the USA. The USA welcomes all immigration, immigration should contribute to the USA and integrate into society. In contrast, SLB nationalist gang layoff American work. when the time has come, you will payback.
They can get away with not giving raises or bonuses because if an American won't work for peanuts then they'll just import an Indian. Been this way at SLB for years. Was working there when all of the hiring started going that way. Americans have lost their way and are now minorities in our own country.
@1bob+14xUb4bd Let's answer your question about the government responded. All the visa holders such as L1, L2, H1B, H4, and TN are legally working in the USA. Labor Department can't do anything because the government issued the visa to them.
The SLB visa holders have an army of SLB attorneys to protect them.

Currently, 22 million Americans lose the job. Trump Administration has to stop the L1 and H1B to save a job for Americans.
Trump Administration must stop Obama term (2015) to approve L2 and H4 (which are L1 and H1B family members) work permit. SLB has thousands and thousands L2 and H4 employees. some office like family. wife's office next to the husband's office.
Please don't ask L2 and H4 are qualified for the position. The only reason they can get this position is family members.
I know a bunch of them who are utterly useless and slb spends hell lot of money on them. They can’t even create a PowerPoint slide. But they have 2-3 patents filed. All they do is shout when they speak to show their strength. When u ask the “how” question, then they hide.

On a serious note .. I think their travel has been cancelled and housing has been reduced !! But they were having a big pride when everything was offered to them like 2 years back
I Simply don’t understand the math of getting international transfer and pay for their transportation living travel expenses without hiring local. Has anybody thought about approaching right agency? This trump time. Try approaching government to see if this is not misuse of work permits.
Have they cut the housing rent allowance too for the expats?

For sure, SLB cut the people’s pay by over 40% if you consider NO overtime, no bonuses, removal of housing allowances, and cut hourly and salaried by 25%. Do they really think people will stay for that or that they can actually get someone in with lower pay? People left them before for better pay. If and when jobs come back they won’t have people around who will be able or do them. Schlumberger has burned too many of the people who used to bleed blue. Seriously f-@& them.
