Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Realistically, what can be done?

This forum has been great confirmation of my internal thoughts on this company, the CEO and the very bad path we’ve been on since she’s taken over. Some mentioned it on the paper right thread, but what can be done to show T is driving this company into the ground at the expense of all employees and participants? Falling out of the Fortune 100, layoffs on layoffs, out of control spending, becoming the laughing stock of the financial services industry. What can we do besides leave?

What if they were deliberately brought in to break it up? And destroy people's savings? Just saying.

Well, considering the FACT that TIAA currently shows a Net-Loss of $463,803619 as of September 2023, Thasunda should be making plans to either get back to growth and profitability or she should become a hip-hop minstrel herself and change her name to "C-SWEET". CEO's who are Losing $464 million have no business pursuing expensive ad campaigns and social initiatives outside the core business. Maybe the board of fellows needs to simplify the message for her:

"Retire Inequality" = Coffee
Coffee is for Closers
Losing $464 million is not Closing
Erego, "C-Sweet"... You are not yet "closing" so you are not yet a "closer" who gets "coffee"

Woulda been cool if we had J Cole make a song for us. He’s from Charlotte, NC. He’s songs and lyrics are actually meaningful

I'm going to start showing up to the office dressed like Flava Flave with a wall clock around my neck and ask all my professors, "Do you KNOW what time it is?? Yo, Yo... it's time to start saving for retirement, Yo."

I am all in on the new culture, but "Paper Straight" just ain't my jam. I wish we'd hit up on some old school joints like Doug E. Fresh "Ladi Di Da Di"... Run DMC "It's Tricky".... TuPac "California Love"..... Geto Boys "Still".... etc.....

Start digging into the quarterly financials and annual reports. They are losing money now and they have yet to pay a single dime down on over 6 billion in surplus notes floated to finance the purchase of Nuveen and Everbank (Now sold). The annual report should hit around late Feb. or early March. If they have a loss (negative net income), contact the ratings agencies and find out how close they are to getting their debt rating downgraded.
Find the campus e-mail address and phone number of every board member who is also an academic and raise HE-L. Don't sit around asking "What can we do??" Figure something out. The whistleblowers (all of whom were front line folks, not senior anything) figured something out and they forced TIAA to return $97 million in ill gotten fees to it's wronged participants.....and they collected over 28 million themselves for doing the right thing by their customers. It CAN be done. You CAN speak truth to power and force change for the greater good....not just sit around and belly ache about greedy execs...you can shine the light of truth on them.

How can the Board turn a blind eye to the gross overspend of expenses?? Agree with previous post, we need to let all hard working participants know that their retirement savings are being spent, NOT on new investment products but on #BLM only causes...

no investment is being made into the employees -- the BRGs and GUILDS are platforms for EC members to self-promote their Brand (insta famous)....

Nothing, most people are even scared to put their thoughts on an anonymous survey they conduct. That includes me. Although they say anonymous but I have my doubts.
Everyone I know or talk to are at the point where they are in the company purely for pay check, plain and simple. As long as your check is rolling keep collecting the money.

Folks T is doing exactly what the board hired her to do. Nobody believes she was hired because she was the best person for the job. She’s a diversity hire, a virtue signal. They hired her win empty awards for being a blck female CEO. To go on tv, podcasts, speaking engagements , meetings in DC etc and blather on about inequality. The board is not put off by any of her antics. They are more out of touch than she is.

Write the board? Put it in the news? Both?
