Things have been going so well this week but last night I work up at 4 am, took a shower to prepare for the day and started reading and preparing for the day.
Around 7 I made a pot of coffee and then the coffee kicked in, needless to say my day is ruined, I'm calling in sick and will not be taking another shower. This day is ruined for me.

If only you took that energy and applied to some other jobs or gotten some new skill you'd of beaten them to the punch. No reason to let your skill set go stagnant sitting in the dumpster.
Man I wish I'd gotten a positive covid test from one of my neighbors, I feel with that I could have gotten at least a extra weeks time off out of this dump before they laid me off.
@3win+1qbgmFuL we have had at least three buyers that have all balked because they want nothing to do with the complete shitshow that is enterprise (i.e. Paetec's shambling corpse).
If you watch financials and notice our revenue churn in enterprise. Remember, almost 100% of that churn are customers we are underwater on margin-wise. We are losing money on pretty much every single legacy Paetec customer we have.
Honestly don’t you think if anyone really wanted to buy this POS network, TT would’ve sold it as instructed. I think the problem with a sales is that a buyer will have to buy all the legacy garbage still in place like cavtel telephone junk, Paetec ancient telephone junk, KDL transport junk. Oh, and for a large part of the network, put it on the worst unarmored fiber ever constructed, promise/sell your customers they’re “ring” protected, only to find out one day that your business is down hard(no protection at all or the protection switching failed) and Windstream can’t fix it because they have no records as to where the fiber is even located. Top that off with the fact that Windstream OSP construction managers do not get involved in fiber cuts, and the company is dependent on Uniti to manage the event. There have been a couple times we thought the FCC was going to shut this company down but they escaped into bankruptcy. Then a federal judge starts awarding the executive team millions of dollars in salaries just to stick around and argue about how to set up uniti and Windstream to make those same executives more millions of dollars. Not sure if there’s a better network to be on, but I wouldn’t depend on this network if I wanted to run a successful business.
I remember one time one of the over sea techs asked me how do they ping something. I knew at that point we were doomed. Tony's bonus dollars were hard at work there.
HR would rather replace 1 guy who knew what they were doing with 3 cheaper guys who can't grasp the concept.
I can't wait to get the rest of the circuits off this garbage network. You're equipment doesn't matter if the people running it can't fix stuff in a reasonable time.

Why is it we can keep getting rid of the few that know how to fix our stuff and not get rid of ALL of the dead weight in management? Then we are relying on outsourced people in a 3rd world country that have no clue. Now we are throwing money at the ops people. Is this supposed to fix everything? Throwing money we don't have at various things?? Why did we get a new CEO if he cant do anything but sell or merge?
I honestly wouldn't worry about anything at this point. The company is running at its barest bones at this point. If you were to lay off people in field ops, the remaining would leave because of the on call burden of being short staffed. There are only three or four Netexio people that can actually support a TNOC ticket..and they're all former Windstream employees. If they cut any more people supporting the the network, they will have have a network that doesn't have the people, or at least the people with the intelligence, for this network to continue functioning at an acceptable level to keep customers.
The laptop is the only thing I sent back, I kept 2 office chairs, 3 monitors, a docking station, which all got donated for a tax write off.
Seriously anyone who thinks that they can't be laid off is kidding themselves, there is absolutely no reason to think anyone is safe here. I know its easy to get complacent, but there are some really good companies out there to work for that won't treat you like a number.
The job I was offered paid 50% more than what I was making here, and thats without having to work any overtime.
Its too bad I still have to work with windstreams network, I can't tell you how embarrassing it is to get off of a call due to a windstream network issue and know that the overseas guy has no clue whats going on, thats the impression you are sending to your customers.

You work for Windstream you should have a plan B. Company will be sold, merged, or imploded in short time. There is plenty of dead weight to remove, however a lot of the dead weight are the people making lists for layoff candidate. TT is gone, Bayer is gone, so some of knee pad wearers are scared. Laptop is ready just need box sent.
