let's make a better Tape drive. Easier compared to HAMR.

Adding platters, HDD becomes an expensive Tape drive which cannot compete with SSD. Why not go all the way?

Not a surprise. The Boeing-like mentality that took over this top management has gutted the necessary systems and processes that used to be in place for new product staging. It was doomed the day they rolled out the marketing of Mozaic before qualifications had even gotten started in earnest. Now they have to live with a leery customer base and disgruntled employees who were blowing the whistle. Dave may not survive this blunder.

Grt analysis @3vfn+1uaktAaX, when Seagate sells your division and your future company fires you, you get 0

Talents are waiting for the severance package. Let’s say someone has been working here for 18 years, and he / she get 10% increments for the new job, how many years will he / she earn the equivalent money? And be displaced after he / she joins the new company is very common in the current economic situation.

I believe STAY is the best strategy.

Seagate and Talent. Probably a funny combination, you must be joking

Most folks working are those who can’t get to go anywhere

No worry. STX is the only FAANG company with HARM products. Our clients can't get HARM product elsewhere on the earth. Storage demand is huge in the next 5 to 10 years.

It’s easy to blame ‘the other guy’. The truth is, our leadership lies. Lies to employees, lies to investors, lies to customers, lies to themselves. It’s a sign of weak leadership and sheer incompetence. It’s a result of inbreeding.

HAMR is the greatest invention of this century, more than CPU,GPU,TPU and whatever.

Now the hottest commodity on planet. Seagate HAMR are selling like hotcake

The top guy who ignored his own internal quality people and the performance data of course. I posted here a year ago that it will hit a brick wall at qualification time and that customers will reject it and order the PMR products available that have better reliability. Why wouldn’t they? That’s what is happening right now on the ground. The HAMR faithful attacked me of course and told me to quit and go away. Unfortunately, WD has the advantage in PMR because Seagate halted PMR development.
