Do the managers get notified of upcoming rif and complete some kind of assessments or something? If they do, how far ahead of the rif do they know? 2 weeks, a month? Please be honest.

Warn Tracker lists Elevance Health 9/16/2024 for Maine.
Honesty. lol…
I’m recently RIFd from a leadership position; Not HR. If they are organized enough to know a specific team will be impacted, they have the manager complete a spreadsheet that ranks their team members-hard to say timeline. I know they’ve known about October before the August notifications. I’ve only seen the assessment on a screen share, so I can’t speak to specifics other than it seemed like typical performance eval questions.
However, I don’t think they use it consistently. For the 8/8 RIF for my business unit—There were two lists of people. A plan A and a “catastrophic” list. I was on the catastrophic list. I think the constantly moving SG&A savings target makes those lists difficult and they just go for highest comp.
