Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Is there anyone happy in this company?

I'm asking seriously. None of my colleagues even bothers to have a fake smile anymore. The atmosphere is really awful and it seems to me that there is no one left who is happy in this company and wants to stay here for a long time. People leave and don't look back.

@5ozm+1eNpMswb Nah. I'm good. I will wait until HR comes begging.

I was happy there until they laid me off last year.
Yet, HR keeps hounding me with jobs to come back?
No thank you!

Im happy in my role. Going on 8 years. When I ever became unhappy with my role I find the root cause and fix it vs place blame. Positive attitudes are as contagious as negative. Treat others the way you want to be treated and don’t expect rewards and praise for doing the bare minimum.

@3uao+1eNpMswb Seriously, if I were you, I'd take your boss' invitation and withdraw your resignation. You won a big one with your boss in October. Now you refuse to go into the office once a month. That's pretty underwhelming when many people have to go in 2-4x per week. It's no hill to die on. Unless you can prove that the 'office is full of COVID' and it's an unsafe working environment, it's petty. And right now, jobs out in the market are demanding triple vaxxing, masking, and oh yeah, onsite work.

BTW, you don't get unemployment if you resign, so unless you have another offer you're accepting or you have another income, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

And exit interviews? DON'T. Your 'revenge statement' will go no further than HR to management, but could be used against you in the future. If you're headed out the door, smile and say to everyone, 'thanks for the memories' and NO MORE. Avoid any contact with HR except for COBRA and other separation details. And tell no one where you're going until you're there for at least two months, even three.

(Take my advice--or not. My work experience is at least a decade, maybe two, longer than yours, and with many companies. And I'm ex-WellCare briefly with Centene, and happy to be out.)

My manager accused me of lying about how I was training a co-worker. I had receipts and she confessed she was lying and left the department. He apologized to me in October. Last week we were told we HAD to return to the office at least once a month although my department is all remote employees. I said "I refuse to return, the office is full of covid," and gave my 2 week notice. He has continued to beg me to reconsider my "rash decision" to leave. Just wait til my exit interview...

@3bih+1eNpMswb- well MAYBE you’re “happy” BECAUSE you’re “well paid”. The rest of us are not!!! Why are you even here? The name calling was unnecessary!!!!!

I’m OG Centene, going on 20 years and yes - I am happy with work and the company. Do I work my bu-t off? Yes. Am I well-paid for that? Yes.

The constant flood of crybabies on this site never ceases to amaze me.

I will be happy if this company laid me off so I can get a severance package. It will also give me plenty of time to find another job that respects me and my skills.

I left the company and the insurance industry in November and haven't thought twice (yes I check here for the drama). I'm in another fortune 25 firm, and it's so strange to be working with people who have been there 15+ years and are generally pretty happy. Something in the water with the insurance biz where the "product" is really just made with accounting tricks prevents people from feeling fulfilled

Yeah , that seems the MO at Centene, so many unknowns, lies, etc. who can smile and be happy outside work with this crazy world, then you add in a company that would care less about any one of us.. not much to smile about.
