@3svb+19cEWig4 You apparently don’t understand that most reps plan on leaving we are just waiting for a package to do so. If you think after putting in 11 years with this company I’m walking out empty handed your sadly mistaken. They want all the grandfathered 40 hour full timers gone. If I have to wait 2 years to get a severance package I will.

Everyone needs to learn to just put their heads down and work and better yourself for the future, who cares about the corp culture, who cares about their “numbers” .

We all post oh here thinking that the company is going to change, its not the company that needs to change , its us!! We need to not care, we need to do whats right for us.

This company is a wheel and we are just a spoke in the wheel, if a spoke comes off the wheel continues to spin

My mentality shifted a few years back when i was with tmobile , i work every day like it could be my last , so when i do get let go its not a surprise!! Ive realized that i cannot change corporate culture, the company is going to do what its going to do and its outta our hands

All i do is go in, do my job the best i can do and than go home, i don't give the company any more or any less. They want to micro manage numbers and have managers assigned to drilling down those numbers go right ahead and stress yourselves out... im not going to stress myself out cause someone wants to micro manage

I must be in another planet! “You can’t force someone to work less hours”? The entitlement! You can’t get rid of my job!!! They just did to a bunch of other people. Please learn something and grow your skills! Not being rude! I want people to wake up and not be stuck in retail perpetuity . You all deserve more and better after a few years of retail. This company gives you the ability to improve. So many positions internally that they don’t post outside. Think about it, majority of VZ external recruits only happens in retail. Why? Because the other internal positions are recruited from that pool. Start in retail, move to Ops, B2B, Client Partner or Network, or QA! Out your retail time in and grow! Trust me, you are not entitled to 40hrs! 32 hrs is like the bare bone FT employee.

If Verizon reduces a fulltime employees hours per week then that employee qualifies for limited unemployment benefits. This is why you will have choices because Verizon does not want full time reps collecting. The offers will include what people are saying
below but if you choose to stay in store you forfeit the right to limited unemployment.

@ihg+19cEWig4 maybe in Retail, but that doesn't happen in the rest of the company. Most of the time it's "your job has been eliminated, you are terminated". Or maybe, "your job has been outsourced, you can go to the other company or you are terminated".

My guess here is the choice will be "we are reducing your hours, accept or you are terminated".

Let’s be realistic here, that comment is 100% true however Verizon isn’t that blunt. The “forcing “ part comes into play when they force you to make a decision. Rarely do they just lay off without giving opportunities or choices. In the case of the retail stores the offers will be ,reduction in hours, telesales or CS and finally severance packages.None of which will be announced as “ lay offs”.

@hmn+19cEWig4 thanks for your kind words. 1st off I don't have a store I work at HQ in NJ and I know much more then you even know. I'm happy a lonely little rep is so full of knowledge. You might not like what you read here, I understand that. But you thinking you know so much is going to provide you with a wake up call.

Yes head counts will be cut. In the past stores had what was called "head count" that will be changed to "man hours". It is called budgeting payroll. If you think an employer can not "force" you to have less hours is comical.

The changes coming will be significant enough that a lot of people will take a severance package to leave. This was part of the plan and a goal all along. Most retail stores don’t even make a profit now so they will cut where they can. Currently we have 9 full time 40 hour reps in our location. Last week our DM said in the very near future the store will be budgeted for 250 hours per week. It is my understanding that two additional waves of job redirects and severance will happen before June.

This isn't rocket surgery...Verizon wants to reduce jobs and many employees want to be reduced. Better communication could have fixed this organically but VZ must be looking for some bad P.R. and have their reps live in fear.
