I’ve been thinking a lot about where the organization stands right now, and honestly, it feels like we’re at a breaking point. With Mark B FIRED (Hurray!!!), it’s a step in the right direction, but the way things have been run—both past and present—makes it hard to see a clear path forward.
I really believe it’s time for a serious clean-up in CSD, and Shannon should be the one to lead this effort. There are too many VPs, Senior Directors,Directors and SLT members who just aren’t delivering or showing any real vision-except for su-king up to the ELTs. They’re holding us back, and if we don’t make some serious changes, we risk losing the hardworking employees who are actually pushing the organization forward.
Something has to change before we get to a point where those who are making the effort are targeted, instead of those who should be held accountable. We need to get back on track, and I truly think someone from the board needs to step up and take action now.

GXS should be sold back to GE and sell Webroot to AOL.
@3sr BN is littered with these people. Layers of process waste.
@mz Most of the VP and Senior Directors are clueless and hopeless. They do not have vision for their teams. They are too busy in su-king up to their bosses and bring no value to the team.
CSD does not need to exist in a modern SW company. Especially the way it is run in OT.
Mark B represented bully culture. Hopefully with him gone some of the other ELT bullies will be released.
@j5 have you properly looked at Shannon’s org?? There is plenty of Managers, Sr Managers, Directors, Sr Directors and such with less than 6 people
Marty and Mike, along with their directs, are creating more friction than value. Everyone under them knows this but is too afraid to call it out. Even architects and team members are openly frustrated with how they operate and do not value these clowns.
They spend more time protecting each other and their pals rather than leading, and as a result the rest of the team has no clarity or direction. This is extremely frustrating for those actually trying to move work forward.
In reality, their leadership is weak, the team feels it every day, and it is holding the org back. I strongly suggest some ELT
reach out directly to managers below them in an ad-hoc way and will hear the same thing consistently.
Bluntly put, both of them and their directs are adding no value and should be let go.
Stop pushing Shannon. No one will ever buy she is a good leader. Products under her leadership are a disaster.
@a7 is this Mike Saleh’s org or Marty Lourens’?
From what I can tell, Marty is going a fine job and is fixing the sins of the past. Mike… has been here too long. Too comfortable. The wrong guy for that ops team right now.
@gv not sure where you get your info but every year OT performs a spans and layers analysis.
Each manager must have 6-8 people. Each director and VP must have 6-8 people.
This is the industry average.
Shannon has hired as many VP’s, Sr Directors and Directors as any other ELT member. Too many managers, no one to do the actual work.
@a8 , First answer to OT problem, "Mark". Gone. Answer fulfilled.
Second question to OT problem, ELT. Pending. Answer yet to be fulfilled.
It stands for Corporate Syrup Distribution. It’s where the syrup gets boxed up and shipped out to the various offices. It’s quiet a sticky situation in this department right now and needs cleaning up.
Yes fire all the leaders. We don’t need them. Then we can finally put all those posting on this forum in charge. We won’t know who they are but they have all the answers.
Cloud service delivery now days they go with Digital under Shanon Bell lol :)
What is CSD
