This is the place where there are no rules needed to be followed at COP. All the foreman tell us to hide any/all spills, any small incidents are covered up. No one seems to care from COP since it is way out of site. It is impossible to turn on all these wells without incidents happening (MTW wells). Can’t turn anything/ anyone in or else your the problem and not a team player apparently!!

@3ryh+1vhJlA1i I agree with whacking the goals. It is a time consuming process that doesn't bring value or significantly push me throughout the year. If I discover something that needs to be done, then I work towards it. If it isn't value add, then I don't do it. In my experience, end of year goals has forced me to do things that I usually discover to be non-value add, but I have to do them in order to complete the goal(s). Some years, there isn't any changes to make and I just focus on doing good work at my standard tasks. That isn't good enough around here. We don't grade people on the job they are assigned to, we reward if they achieve goals that sometimes aren't even value add in the end.
But wait the new ops manager at the safety meeting said “they want you to report spills”. Should we listen to her or to our highly unqualified foremen that run this field.
If the company wanted to really save money they would cancel all these SLS classes, Bogus SLT, and finally get rid of the setting up goals in general. Lots of time wasted in these bringing contractors in and feeding everyone when they could be productive in the field. Supervisors know who really takes care of their work and who they can depend on ETC… don’t need to spend wasted time in the beginning and end of year on goals that won’t matter in a rigged ranking.
If you work in oil and gas out in the field you know this to be true. It’s not just COP, they all do it. Everyone knows and everyone turns a blind eye. Move into another field of work if your conscience can’t handle it.
