Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What could US Bank do if someone decides not to go to the office.

I am being highly unproductive and wasting 2+ hours in commute daily. RTO seems like a dead end to me and is clearly messing way too much with my mental peace. I am curious what actions US Bank aka North Korea could take if I decide not to go back to the office ?

You can be axed for any reason. Me and a coworker had our jobs eliminated and they told everyone its because we werent in a hub. We were never even asked or approached about moving to a hub.

RTO is part of my goal. Don’t care, not coming in till next year after performance review and warning.

Let them threaten to put u on PIP before wasting 10 hours a week commuting

Heck no we won’t go heck no we won’t go

Heck, you might get laid off anyway, why bother show ing up when you will get laid off either way because McKinsey tells them layoff is the way to efficiency

It's not in everyone's Workday goals. I don't know anyone who has this in their goals but that may be because everyone on the team was already Remote or Hybrid long before the pandemic.

Considering it's now part of everyone's Workday goals, it can and will be used against you during mid-year and end of year performance evaluations. One more item in their quiver to eliminate those not willing to conform to their RTO initiative.

Is this a real question? Insubordination at an employer is insubordination whether it’s something you feel passionate about or not. Chances are they’re hoping for some attrition or a good reason to terminate someone rather than have to include them in a layoff headcount. I’m not interested in RTO but I wouldn’t be willing to put a target on my back.

North Korea? Wow…..grow up. Sounds like entitlement. Free market here, leave and find something else. Or, don’t follow direction and get fired. Choice is yours.

Simple. They could fire you

They definitely have avenues of retribution (PIP, no bonus) unless you have a medical reason to not be there. A friends company had several people fired due to lack of RTO compliance, also financial services. Rare but it does happen. Speak with a medical professional on it and get that medical exemption!

If you have peers or managers that are coded as RTO ,and are not showing up to the office, make sure to document the dates/names. If management tries to punish you, go nuclear on them with the documentation. ❤️ HR

Document everything and how they are suddenly treating you because there will be a time to fight and win same as what’s happening now with that vax mandate. People are going to have massive lawsuits. I know I’ve documented poor working conditions and such over the years. I’m not going to the hub so when that time comes I will be on front page of news if I have to, spreading details about poor conditions and mistreatment/favoritism at US Bank. They haven’t met their match yet but it’s coming.

North Korea will give you a verbal warnings. Your bonus will be reduced and they will put on you a performance improvement plan(PIP). This is a game of chickens. As long as you claim to have medial reasons why you cannot show up, they can't do much. Your probably safe for 6-12 months.
