Are we in the calm before The Email hits? What’s in the rumor mill?

Don't blame the guy roasting you, when your lives are so boring you genuinely feel excited others being forced to the office while simultaneously being offshored. Get a grip.

I have no faith in our leaders. However, STOP COMPLAINING about WFH model. The more you complain the worse you make it for everyone. If you don't like it then leave, you are causing so many problems for the majority of us that are just trying to do our jobs and survive our clueless leaders.

@3qdi = more mental gyrations to try and convince others of what magically happens when he is at home where no one can witness or prove it. Yawn.....

Almost 20 years at the company, I’ve never gotten a ranking below 2+ or 3 EEs. I get way more done when working at home than when I’m in the office surrounded by you mediocre, undisciplined, busywork RTO disciples.

If Chevron makes me come back in all 4-5 days I’ll have a new gig within 3 months at a company that treats employees like adults and actually gets rid of underperformers instead of punishing everyone across the board

It's amazing what mental twists and gyrations some useless employees will demonstrate to justify staying home so that they can do nothing and remain unsupervised. But of course, to them it's always managements fault. Well the scam is up. Get over it.

Uhh... Where are they going to sit?! They have to rotate people on different days because there isn't enough places to sit. Unless they buy or build something, I don't see it happening.

Lazy leadership that equates being in the office with being productive and lazy oldoes with no self control who don’t believe anyone can be productive WFH because they’re not able to be productive themselves and are sad there’s nobody else in the office for them to waste time distracting or see them in pointless meetings.

Weird employees to be punished for supervisors inability to successfully supervise. Scapegoat the rank and file.

This is true, most employees addicted to WFH are not even working part-time.

I don’t many people willing to go back in full time. Heck most of our group is not even part time in office. It’s a non starter for us.

Slackers. Most other companies are mandating in-person. WFH can be done by your replacements in India. heck, they can get 3 to 1 for what they pay you in California.

WFH is not a guarantee in the future. Once the new HQ gets the headcount it desires all those remaining after layoffs will get a desk to sit at Mon-Fri rather than current hybrid. Hybrid will go away in 2027

@mkn No, not at all. Not even close. It's just more important that you are actually WORKING than doing what you are use to doing all day at home. It's very simple. Don't like it, go find a different job.

Not sure anything can be dictated until layoffs happen to make the needed space. Alternatively, go work, only to get stuck in the cafe at a non-ergonomic setup, where no one can find you anyhow, and you will be less productive cause that laptop monitor will limit any work you can do and participating in a remote mtg is comical with "unhoused" folks wandering by as well. But don't forget, it is more important to have your butt in an onsite seat than it is to be productive.
