The way merit is paid , management is given a range based on your individual salary and overall rating . Then given a pot of $ to distribute as fairly as humanly possible based on performance. Same with AIP… to reward 1 person you basically have to take from someone else as you have to stay within the amount of money they provide .

1% (lowest merit I have ever received. Meets or exceeds on all goals. When I asked why, my manager said, to be honest, you are retiring this year, so I used the increase money for team members who are staying. Really? I don’t even this this is legal, but my reward will be retirement. Has anyone else had that happen to them? Maybe a class action age discrimination case?

This is a reply from an employee who has been here over a score.

Years ago AIP came on the same check as regular payroll.
Several years after that it went to a separate check.
This year it is back to being on the same check as regular payroll.

No clue as to why.

Just remember most changes done are for the benefit of the company and/or shareholders, not the employees.

Anyone else curious as to why we don't get a separate payment for AIP instead of lumping it with our paychecks? Every year it takes so much extra for taxes.

Other health insurance co may be better but then you are stuck with their cr-p insurance as an employee. This is why i make sure i get a job with bcbs companies.

I'm just glad I live in a country where I can walk away from my job whenever I like. I plan on just walking away when i get tired of this circus. 1% or 3% means nothing to me.

Compared to merit raises we are getting at United Health, the 3-5% Cigna is giving is pretty generous. Which is really sad to say.

Be thankful for Merit and AIP since you're still employed! I was part of 10/20 RIF so waiting to see IF I receive the AIP I was told I would receive. I went back and looked: 127% AIP in 2023 and 151% in 2022 with 6.5% Merit that year. My how the tables turned!

Is bonus paid out via a separate check or is it included in my bi-weekly check? I can't remember how I received mine last year.

Some of those with directs in this forum thread can confirm, I believe part of the merit increase is also dependent on your (current) pay range. If you are near the top or at the top of your grade’s pay range you may get lower merit % increase from your old annual salary.

I know I am near the top of grade pay range and if I get a COLA increase (aka “Merit” for EH) I will likely have surpassed my grade’s pay range. I am a long time company associate so my pay range is pretty good.

For @2vjj+1rnVr5yy

As long as you haven't resigned before 3/15 they can't take back your bonus. Now, if you were one of Gail's directs and quit on 3/18, that may be different. But you have no obligation to stay any period of time as the AIP is based on 2023 work/performance.

Excellent performance review and 360 feedback comments. Was told there wasn't anything I needed to improve on. 1.75 merit and AIP at 95%. Do they actually expect people to continue performing at a high level with this as a return???

Does anyone know if you have to stay employed with the company after the AIP payout for any certain period of time? Is there any chance they can rescend the payout if you leave shortly after?

lol you got yours already?? I got nothing posted yet. Granted my direct manager jumped ship and my director has assumed the role, and our entire small team like everyone else is overworked and juggling too many plates…if our merit doesn’t reflect that (and I’m not really expecting it to), my level of effort certainly will

So, compared to inflation, it looks like another year of pay CUTS for those of us on the ground.
I wonder how much of a pay cut Gail and Gloria are taking? Actually, I don't wonder.
