Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Absolute distrust!

I absolutely do not trust our leadership. I am skeptical of everything they say. Perhaps they should ask themselves why people do not trust them and how this distrust affects the company in general? But no, they persistently ignore obvious trust issues. Not only do they not care about the employees, but to me personally they look as if they don't care about the company either.

Tell me what will change your mind? For me it was the promise of pay raises and it it came in at 15% lower than the inflation rate from my last raise I lost all hope, especially since Sal got a 50% pay increase and the HR EVP is making 5 million dollars after less than 2 years.

This company forces us to purchase equipment that doesn't match our requirements and cost more than we need because of Moneyball and we need to show a profit just the same. What utter poor money management, who is getting a BIG kickback from the vendors ?

@1lye+1dyOYIad: Here's the problem: Sal actually has the skill and the track record to turn around a carcass like DXC. He's actually not bad, and the hires from Accenture have the skills, too.

The actual worker bees are (or at least were) skilled at doing their jobs. They care about the customers and (mostly) do their best.

So what is causing the breakdown between the C-suite and the workers? Middle management. Somewhere in that morass of managers is a layer or two that is distorting the message from the top down and, more critically, from the bottom up. That poisonous layer needs to be cut out for DXC to have any real chance of succeeding in the long (or even medium) term.

Cutting that layer out is only the start, though. C-suite still has a long way to go to earn the trust & respect of the worker bees, and there is always the problem of declining profitability. But DXC remains profitable, so there is always hope.

agree with @1nft+1dyOYIad and with @3nuf+1dyOYIad - it's good start in cutting away the fat, saving company $$/££ and restoring the bad reputation that DX' C has got

middle management have no power to change anything, like it was said above "They’re just trying to get by like every one else" What I don't like is the whole people manager thing, how can a manager that is not involved in your day to day job review you> Get rid of all people managers , get rid of any manager / director that has no direct reports , How can you have a title of director or manager if you manage nothing?

Folks complain about middle management because there's so many off them they are tripping over each other.

You end up with 5 managers telling you what to do, alot of them invent new processes that are contradictory to the dxc policies and enforce them as if they are necessary.

They only know about cutting, so they are masters at that, they have no skills to grow the company or attempt to grow the company and staff as that involves effort.

They have a tick box mentality and never apply any common sense.

They never question any new policy from the top even when they know its stupid and will not work. They just behave like useless gophers.

And the list can go on and on....

So it's needs a big cut on these middle layers, replacing them with middle managers who will apply common sense and grow the company and not treat staff to always beat them up.

Michael needs to tackle the middle management layer if this company is to turn around.

I don’t know why people complain about middle mgmt. They’re just trying to get by like every one else. It’s the 10 or so folks at the top screwing the workers.

distrust all middle management from bottom to top up; they are only interested in themselves, taking credit for other people's work, piling work on hard working staff after more and more WFR and sackings. Also when things go wrong they deflect blame downwards and are happy to stab people in the back
