Thread regarding USAA layoffs

The new EJS

It just dawned on me that all the people here are the ones who used to complain on EJS. When you ask yourself why people come on a layoff site to complain about company parties, its because this has turned into the new EJS!!

Bruh, you won with that. They donated millions to BLM (8 digits worth), they don't acknowledge the deaths of our soldiers in the Afghan withdrawal (pretty core to our mission), and you know the want to stand with Palestine, but have too much cowardice to say so. WP, the regressive EC, and BoD can all GFY.

Probably right around the time they started denying biological reality. Once you embrace insanity, all reason is it the window.

When did USAA begin denying correct severance? Did the severance guidelines recently change?

EJS was an anonymous feedback board on the USAA intranet where employees could also anonymously like others' comments. It was eliminated and replaced with the Post which includes the employee's name (no more anonymity).

Yesterday I spoke to a family member who praised his experience with Geico. He said, "They are great, like USAA used to be."

To paraphrase GK Chesterton, we (the employees) did not love USAA because it was great; USAA was great because we loved it.

Why did everyone leave EJS?

I was laid off along with 100's of people due to job elimination. I am trying to understand if it was only call center employees who were told that they could work from home forever? I know I was never told that, and I was exempt. I was originally told I could come and go as I please by my executive director, but I have been working long enough to know that things could change at any time. There is no such thing as "forever" in the professional environment, but more of an extension of current benefits. What exactly was the "bait and switch"?

Maybe the best idea is to create a new forum devoted to USAA employees who want to vent about everything they dislike at USAA. Feel free to constantly talk about po-p, su-king body parts and how everyone but themselves have a clue. Please feel free to ser that up today. Ensure you provide management a link so they can understand your duress. Problem solved. But this site is not that.

And once everyone gets past the name-calling, the truth of the matter is this:

Pride in the workplace is about more than just feeling good. It’s an essential factor in employee engagement – and one that’s all too often neglected.

When it’s present at work, it inspires individuals and teams to achieve more, communicate better, and build upon each other’s strengths. When it’s not present, things can get ugly. Really ugly. And what is “it”? It’s the often abstract yet extremely powerful feeling of “pride.”

Pride is deeply personal, and yet it also acts as a sort of currency in relationships; if you care for and trust the people you work with, you’re naturally inclined to go the extra mile. Whereas if you don’t have pride in your company or colleagues, things fall apart fast.

Can anyone have pride in a company that does a "bait-and-switch"? That denies employees correct severance to save a nickel? That has a leader that grabs the bucks instead of showing loyalty to the company? (And, yes, I worked for such a tremendous leader; THAT was a truly remarkable company, not this sham of an excuse of false promises and undeserved self praise; when that leader died, the line of mourners was long and many cried sincere tears, myself included).

USAA may have, in past history, been a praise-worthy company. But no longer.

P.S. USAA - praise is something GIVEN to you, not something you bestow upon yourself.

I think there are several reasons as to why people are coming here with these topics:

1 - Most importantly, there is a serious breakdown of trust between management and employees, and this site has become a "rallying place" to discuss how disgusted employees are with USAA;

2 - Employees that have been unfairly treated (false PIPs, force-outs, unfair workloads, etc.) have gathered to validate their experiences (and yes, it IS unfair to do a bait-and-switch impacting employee lives with excessive commute time; every single topic raised is VALID);

3 - It is the last "safe haven" to vent frustrations, up to and including terminations (whether willful or artfully forced).

I have been harmed by USAA as an employee. And I don't mind in the least giving some space for employees to vent about whatever irritates them.

I think USAA management should be grateful for this site. It allows employees a "safe harbor" to vent, and gives them true insight into what employees are thinking.

After all, eventually they will have to clean up this mess of their own design.

You are not pointing out issues, you are constantly crying about every benefit you have. There is not one ounce of leadership level intelligence in your brain. Once again, how is the endless whining about RTO, bonuses, benefits and putting down holiday parties related to being laid off? Nothing but finger pointing and bathroom jokes here, which proves the lack of intelligence in your comments. Good luck trying to get anything above French fry level in your job search. Better yet, point to this site so future employers can understand your true mindset.

Looks like someone let the non-potty trained toddlers on this site, look at them wail about "pathetic" ungrateful employees while being even more pathetic with their own tantrum posts. Before calling people losers for legitimate gripes that may or may not involve layoffs, maybe look at yourself in the mirror first. There's the L on forehead, plain as day.

Signed,
Professor Poopypants

Now go post another rant on toilet words and immaturity.

So if you point out the issues with USAA, that makes you responsible for them? What kind of "he who smelt it dealt it" logic" is that.

Employees can’t be silenced here by Wayne & his minions. And the Holiday Party next Saturday (15th) will be just that, all the kool-aid drinkers will flock to Wayne and thank him for the bread crumbs of a holiday party, while he will once again lead USAA to another billion dollar loss, and he’ll still get his raise.
