The HR reports come out today, as far as your attendance at the office. For some are exempt, others have you been going in, how's it going any office chatter?

Never swipe your badge if you're on PTO Never use someone else parking pass it Will cat h up to you If your on PTO or out sick for a week, well then that's an issue on the company's programming ( coding/ algorithm) of this program, sounds like a flaw to me. Also your manager Workday software , and whole team practically knows your on PTO, sick time etc.. go back to the drawing board Anthem/ Elevance health IT...
Eye roll..

@3jtn+1phG4F6N - I know you feel trapped, but if you badge in when you're on PTO, then they own you already. Update your resume and start putting out feelers, then just wait for the inevitable axe to fall and take your SUB package (or severance, whichever applies).

I know that our RVP gets the badge swipe report monthly. I missed one week due to a few PTO days, and went in twice the following week to make up for it- but I was reprimanded for missing a week. When I took a week off, I made a point to swing by the office and badge in so It was recorded to prevent any more issues around taking PTO.

To those that would travel to the sears tower - good luck and god bless, because you are taking your life in your hands doing the train, and going to spend an extra 2 hrs in the car if you drive.

They are checking badge swipes into the office, as you don't have to swipe a badge to leave, but attendance had no impact on the last RIF. At the start of September when it became a requirement, we were told that our leadership was given a report on badge swipes. However, they would have had the RIF numbers worked out before that date. If you looked online at the reservation numbers, it would appear that the office is fully booked, but upon arrival, it was pretty much empty.

@1iqm+1phG4F6N, the pulse offices are actually quite nice. There are many quiet places you can do your work. I even saw someone set up on the plaza level working. If you haven't been in perhaps give it a try. Maybe try to get exempted instead of just not going in.

The only way you are getting those severance packages are if you start coming in. And when they get you in one day a week it will soon be 3 days per week and then 5 per week. If you are prepared to be in office 5 days per week in the near future then start going in because that’s the only way you’re getting severance if laid off. Otherwise you can stay at home and start filling out applications and networking your contact lists to get head start. Again, if you start going into the office, at all, be prepared to be in the office every single day. They lied about remote work and they are lying about the number of days they want you back in.

Oh for sure. I was just mainly thinking about all the effort they are going through to get that data. Are they then cross referencing it with PTO? For example if a person is out a full week, are they then flagged as breaking company policy? Are they counting it on a monthly basis or a weekly basis?

@1noa+1phG4F6N. It isn't about how big or small the Pulse Points are...it is about how the company can reduce spending on all the severance costs currently being incurred. When people quit -- or can be terminated for cause -- it reduces the expenses in severance payments.

@1iqm+1phG4F6N. Most people would prefer a severance package/layoff with eligibility for unemployment benefits to a termination for cause where there is no eligibility for unemployment benefits or severance. But to each his own, I guess....

Can't imagine they'd go through the trouble for that for the super small pulse points.

Let me clarify my previous comment. I know they can terminate me for not coming in but what I am getting at is that coming into the office isn't going to save my job either way. I'm not going to come into the office to have a glorified social event when I can sit at home and get an actual day's work done. Unless they are going to guarantee me employment for a certain period of time then I won't even consider coming in. I hear the offices are looking even more sparse than before after the latest round of layoffs and dehumanizing actions. The company is saber rattling right now and it is important that employees stand their ground. These executives are in it for the short term stock gains and priorities will change when they shuffle the deck again.

Yes be careful -- not going in could result in a termination for cause, which means no severance and no unemployment. Possibly this is strategic -- an easy way to reduce severance costs.

There's a difference from 'not going in' and being laid off. You might want to rethink that. Could it result in an or-l warning , then write up ? That's not a lay off that's flat out termination. Just be careful.

If you don’t go in they will lay you off. If you do go in they will lay you off. They can also pull the report where it says I was hired as a fully remote employee so if they would like to push it further then they can pay me to be unemployed for several months.

The reports are used for tracking your attendance, or lack thereof. Simple as that They will know if reservations are made ( and checked in) or not at all. They know if you make a reservation and don't show up.
They are tracking parking lot activity if you have a parking pass, your comings and goings
They're checking your badge activity or lack thereof
Yes they will know if you're not going in.

What do the reports detail? Will this be used for next round of layoffs? (for those refusing to go in)
