The fact of the matter is that the people in suits don't need to worry as much about being infected while working on premises since they have their own separate offices to themselves, walled off from everyone else. The rest of us are sitting together working at our cubes, eating at the cafe, and sharing the break rooms.
The President declared a national emergency, multiple governors and mayors have declared their own emergencies over their jurisdiction. The same can be said for other countries and multiple corporations have asked all their people to work from home.
Despite all of that, Anthem leadership scoffs at any concerns and downplays the pandemic and has yet to make an official decision to allow employees to work remotely. This shows the level of distrust leaders have for their own teams as well as a lack of concern for both associates' mental & physical health.
What needs to happen is associates (and contractors) need to band together and take the matter into our own hands. Make a collective decision and lets either walk out, or start working from home and force leaderships hand in this.
We need to stop this self destructive behavior and stop letting the people in suits get away with what they think is best for them.
