I see yet another UK&I region town hall scheduled for June 30th. Does DXC mgmt really think they are impressing employees with these constant town halls that are just full of false platitudes around how impressed they are with our COVID response and of all the great comments they hear about our work for clients. Any chance they could use these town halls to talk about real things like pay, rewards, employee satisfaction, WFR plans etc. I expect this will be another waste of time call

The biggest problem on the table right now is that Sally spent ages sweet talking customers into not quitting and promising the yanking of resources was stopping.... then in the UK they have done just that.
Yanked people engaged in project work away from customers with no notice or explanation.
What is a customer supposed to think now? DXC loved me for 5 minutes and now is back doing the same old thing again?
That's before you start talking about inability to grow. Just servicing current contracts would be a good start.
Honestly, this place doesn't know its @rse from its elbow.
Next stop, the region formerly known as NCE gets the same treatment apparently...
@Post ID: @3fqa+15HdgXbO All well and good going for growth, but how are you going to achieve that when your sales people are useless, they are so lazy they cant even be bothered to sell anything.
Customers arent going come running to you giving more business, you have to sell to them and twist their arm nicely to buy. Loads of accounts need upgrades but no one is bothered to sell them to the customer.
So in short its easier to appoint a load of bods at the top, talk about strategy, and keep cutting.
DXC are masters at those things but couldn't sell a beer in a pub. So they focus on thier strenghts and in the process the company downsizes till eventually it folds.
In the meantime the 2 Sal's and Sal and Saleh (and the ex accenture gang) will have made a few Million and off into the sunset.....
It seems a short term approach is being applied quarter after quarter, constantly concluding that the only real way to improve the bottom line quickly is to continue to find ways of reducing costs. Not enough effort is going it to where to cut costs, to the extent that key people are released from the company as they aren't currently assigned to existing contracts. Yes, this make the company more efficient, for that there is no doubt. However, there are other ways to improve the bottom line including profitable revenue growth, albeit not a quick approach, but longer lasting. The current scenario is not conducive to a revenue growth strategy. Who is going to be left to support bid responses for the service areas were there is still great potential to grow? How are new projects going to be resourced in a timely manner when there is an overly stringent recruitment process to follow, which can't be started until customer fully commit? Where is the investment to respond to opportunities faster than the competitors, with readily available resources? Stop talking about growth if the prime objective is to get fit with existing contracts first. Service your customers well, watch the service revenue stabilise, invest in growth with the profits. Stop juggling with so many balls and learn to stop dropping them.
I see from all the comments, sweet F All has happened to make DXC viable and a great place to work, since I escaped 3 years ago. I really feel for all the hard working people that have to endure that horrible company. God, I am so glad I'm outta there, what a sh1tehole it is. Good luck you guys. If you do escape, your BP will become normal and you'll be able to sleep at night again. Cheers!
Yes strange how you get emails on strategy, Surveys, and other bull, but no email on Pay even now in July. Stop sending out meaningless emails which must take a lot of time to write and spend your time on Pay Rises.
You would think its high up on their priority list NOT. Just shows how they treat the staff and then expect them to fill out surveys saying how good it is.
Cant believe it 1 year on and we are still talking about building blocks before we go to market. So they are still working on strategy 4 quarters on.
Thats not how it works, a turnaround CEO carries out a review and defines the strategy in 1 - 2 quarters and implement by the 3rd quarter.
All we are seeing is lower revenues and orders 4 quarters on. So they are going to talk for another 4 quarters and sell nothing.
Nothing is ever mentioned about sales progress, why dont they present what Sales are doing, have done, and how they are aligning Sales to sort out the issues.
On Pay Rises he thinks they are happening, and and are being progressed shows how important they are as we are in July and he has no idea. You would think as his talking to employees that would first thing he would have found the details of before coming to the meeting. Means they are not important and are not being focused on.
Such a waste of time to keep on talking about same strategies time after time, just play a replay recording no need to regurgitate the same talk. Alternatively condense the talk to 10 mins and just tell us whats changed, leave the remaining time to questions and answer them, do not dodge them.
Nothing will change here in the UKI and the bosses are still the same - over promising for changes but failing on execution - apart from executing more WFR down the pipeline.
I noticed how the UKI boss encouraged people to respond to the latest survey and he was very clear in calling out that it was an 'engagement survey So if DXC get 75% or over they have achieved world class levels of employee engagement. This is all they want to see, a figure that says their employees are engaged so they can applaud each other in snr mgmt circles and justify their next pay hike and bonus all the while ignoring all the real stats and comments that the survey will throw out by its employees. What a f—ng company.
Karl A. (NCE leader) just read from the paper what was written by someone else (maybe Turpie)
If they held as many sales meetings with customers rather than this waffle town halls then they might get somewhere.
What exactly is a town hall? These are just spiels which a grad could read out (sorry grads not degrading you but just showing that someone without experience can read a bit of management
waffle/spiel). Why do we need someone on $3000000 to read some waffle. Surely could be offshore to a low cost region.
The questions never get answered, nothing positive comes out, its just a one way dialogue.
The highlight is the presenter at the beginning introducing the thing.
So, we have some vary good exciteing news!
Whats that?
We are joining regions!
What does that mean for us?
Keep doing the same nothing will change for you!
Oh, ok......
Honestly, its my last day today, and i just burst out laughing at this nonsense. How many organiztional changes and re-structures have we had in the last 10 years? maybe 60-70?
Let me guess, we are gonna work hard, please our customers, and try and make more money? and its going to be an epic journey! blah blah blah, its so cringe worthy its just laughable now.
Honestly get out of there when you can, its a good stepping stone company though, but dont stay more then 18 months, you wont develop any more after that.
Was the other guy in the UK&I town hall reading a book on his desk, or what?
Once the PA lady asked the question to Turps to tell us about himself I lost the rag and slammed the laptop down. There is obviously a ploy by DXC mgmt to screen the questions and replace the difficult ones with these soft as sh1t ones which no one cares about. It has been done in The Sally Town Halls and in one of the US ones where the HR lady had to talk about herself. There is a real attempt here by DXC to mask the problems and give the company a friendly family run business feel. It's not going to work Sal and Turps we see through you.
No one:
Natasha: "Oh here's a question, Steve, tell us all about yourself"
:-D
@1wic+15HdgXbO Why is everyone so obsessed about belittling graduates?!?!?!? Stereotyping isn't helpful or fair. Also it's spelt "strategies" not "startegies".
Same here in AMS, all bull c-ap. Blah blah blah . Sounded like a sales bull call. Tell us what we want to know. When are Riff's, Furloughs going to end? When are Levels 1 -6 (not 1 -4) getting pay raises. A total waste of time
So Turps has a bigger better job title? He couldnt do the current role.
Anything useful actually said eg
how they are going to please the customers?
How many jobs they are going to chop?
and how they are actually going to Sieze the market opportunity
from the comments it sounded more like the usual talk talk management textbook stuff. Why cant they get a grad to do that Spiel?
Sal's coming upto a year in post and the salesmen still havent sold anything, the stockmarket seems to have fathomed him now, all these managers appointed but nothing is selling, revenue is declining and the managers just waflling on about startegies.
Sounded like a bit of an ego trip really, and why the hell should we be excited by that news? Lost count of how many organisational changes we've had, but the end result is always the same. At first I thought it might actually be something genuinely exciting the way they kept bigging it up at the start :-)
Didn't bother attending. Today is my last day with DXC (Yippee!).
Sounds like the usual DXC b*llsh1t though. We're going to focus on customers by removing all our staff, and seize the market opportunity through consulting led sales, using all the DXC consulting folks. Oh wait, I've made all of DXC consulting redundant?? Oops. Oh well, if we can't seize the market opportunity, we can just make some more of you redundant instead, as it'll keep the in-quarter earnings per share up and hide the fundamental problems in the company.
So, for those of you unfortunate to have 'survived' the latest round of WFR, I wish you luck. I'd also suggest you get your CVs out, find a new employer and leave DXC asap. It's a case of same Sh1t, different Mike.
Its very exciting news! Turpie has a new bigger job! Soooo exciting!
It took him ages to actually spell out what exactly was merging with what though.
How does it effect the worker drones? Cheer of course because it means more cost optimisation, which means you won't have a job. Just carry on for now, keep working away while we work out just which of you are going to get the boot before christmas.
He spat some numbers, 80/20 - thats 80 percent of jobs done by someone cheaper than you.
Strap in boys and girls, you've got an exciting future in the job market during a global pandemic.
We're all REALLY excited to go on this "journey" with you Turpie.
I'm literally watching it right now. The strategy is
- Focus on customers
- Optimise costs
- Seize the market opportunity
Wow. That's groundbreaking. They must have had a team of top management consultants to come up with that. It's literally an MBA masterclass. Bravo.
WTF is this call about, another real waste of time., I'm done with them after this never again. This has to be the worst company in the world for communication. This false excitement about transformation journeys and potential is so sickening.
Do you really want to spend time with UK management? They could not find their collective a4sehole with a diagram and a sign that reads; "your a4sehole is behind you"
I managed to get the script for the town hall if you dont want to waste time then here it is summary:
We are all doing well thanks but we need to work harder = The Management are milking it keep producing the goods there's nothing in it for you
Unfortunately Book to Bull ratio is down = Sales people are useless we are not winning any new business - get some decent sales people.
We have to align with our costs to keep competitive = Other companies have given pay rises but we are rewarding you by -3% every year and job cuts on a regular basis.
Im sorry but we have to remove unnecessary layers the clients have told us = We have cut some lower layers, but we have got round this by creating wider costly layers at the top (ex accenture welcome)
We need to communicate the strategy = We will provide no updates then we will provide 4 town halls in a week delivered by different managers
We need your feedback so please fill out the survey = We didnt like the last survey so we binned it without feeding back to you, so please mark us higher and hopefully we can report back in 6 months when everyone has forgotten what they fed back.
Yeah meeting invite a day before is never a good sign. Although this Turps guy will beat around the bush for half the call before he spits out whatever it is that he actually wants to say
That its dropped at the last minute and probably you have a line of service call this week too.... and the timing being just as the previous lot of bodies are being taken away from the bullet scarred wall...
I don't think its going to be good news.
My mailbox is full today of goodbyes from highly valuable colleagues from across UK&I.
I'd be upset if this was my first dance, but I'm the battle scarred veteran of the Mikey purges, so just blink and keep my head down.
Ah, but you forgot there's another 4500 to go this year (worldwide). Weighing up the odds that it'll be mostly western locations, I think you can reasonably expect a biggish chunk out of the UK&I commencing mid August.
